Prison Break: 12 Hours Earlier

As you can tell, I've been totally hooked by the first two episodes of Prison Break this season. Between Veronica dying, Lincoln getting shot and FBI Agent Mahone coming thisclose to figuring out Michael's escape plan, I've been sitting at the edge of my seat every Monday night.

But I was a little disappointed by this third episode. I realize elaborate dramas like this need a little setup, but I found myself getting fidgety throughout this one -- hottie Wentworth Miller or not.

The episode opened with Agent Mahone and a medical examiner surveying the wreckage of a burned, flipped over car below a bridge. Before we can find out who was in the car, however, the screen flashes back to 12 hours earlier.E_PrisonCarCrash_200.jpg
Dun, dun, dah!

Michael and Lincoln show up at the home of Michael's wife, Nika. If you remember from season one, Nika and Michael are officially married, although only so she can get her Green card and he was allowed conjugal prison visits. Cozy arrangement they have there, huh?

While Nika helps Lincoln with his wound, Michael goes to the tow yard to get their car back. It's not so much the car he's worried about, but what's inside his backpack, in the car. Michael retrieves his car, but there's nothing in it. He drives off to pick up Lincoln before Mahone can catch up with him.

After changing the car's plates, the brothers say good-bye to Nika -- who seems sad to see Michael go. Does anyone else think Nika might really be in love with him? Before heading west, toward the money and Lincoln's incarcerated son LJ, Michael says he has one more stop to make and asks his big brother if he trusts him.

The question seemed cryptic at the time, but when Michael sends the car into a tailspin at the top of a bridge, it starts to make sense. Knowing full-well that Agent Mahone is on to them, Michael and Linc jump out of car, after they've hit the scan button on the radio and taken bags of bones and blood out of the trunk. Michael had rigged the car to explode when the radio hit station 103.7, hoping to make Mahone think they were dead. They put the car in gear and push it over the bridge. No explosion. As they hear Mahone's sirens down the road, Lincoln reaches in the car and manually turns the radio to the right station. He escapes and all Mahone sees is a huge cloud of fire and smoke in the sky -- which brings us back to the beginning of the episode, 12 hours later.

Watch Prison Break Mondays at 8pm ET on Fox.

E_Sara_68.jpgThe Doctor
Dr. Sara Tencredi is in some big-time trouble. She is released from the hospital and promptly put under arrest for helping the convicts escape. Later, she is brought to an interrogation room to meet with her father, the Governor of Illinois. Before she can explain her side of the story, her father starts running damage control, demanding she attend daily AA meetings, explain to the judge everything she knows about Fox River, etc... Sara tells her father she can't because she did it. It is at the end of this meeting that we learn her father is going to be appointed to Vice President of the United States -- how very interesting -- and the plot thickens!

E_Bellick_68.jpgFormer Captain Bellick
Bellick finds Geary (the security officer who ratted him out and caused him to lose his job) in a liquor store and punches him across the face. In true male fashion, the next scene shows the two men cracking beers outside. Bellick and Geary decide to team up to catch the cons and score the reward money.

E_Sucre_68.jpgSucre
Michael's old cellmate and fellow escapee, Sucre, wants only one thing: to get his wife, Maricruz, back. He phones a friend in New York and finds out she is getting married in just a few days. He flips out and begs his friend to get Maricruz to come to his house, where he will meet her. He hangs up before his friend can tell him Maricruz is getting married in Vegas and is already there. Sucre later gets pulled over after having stolen a car but manages to practically vanish before the scared cop can ask him to get out of the car.

E_CNote_68.jpgC-Note
Another convict, C-Note, is also on his own, wanting to see his wife and little girl. His wife, Kacee, is beyond pissed at him for lying to her about being in the service in Afghanistan when he was really in prison. How did he think he was going to pull that one off?!? He shows up at his daughter's school and begs her to tell Kacee to remember to leave the porch light on at 7pm. After much hesitation, Kacee follows her daughter’s reminder, but as C-Note stands outside, an FBI agent is sitting at her kitchen table, wanting to know what information Kacee has to give her.

But where was T-Bag in this episode? And LJ? And is Warden Pope going to come to the cons rescue or join Bellick and Geary? I want more!! What do you guys think about Sara's dad being appointed VP? There is so something I'm missing here... any predictions?

Thanks again for doing this. Love it. Anyway, the thing I didn't like about this episode is how Bellick sees Michael and Linc escaping after the fire. That guy is supposed to be stupid. There is no way he should be outsmarting Mahone.

I agree- that was annoying and too predictable. I hated that T-bag killed that guy.
