Billy Bush Sheds A Tear

Access Hollywood's Billy Bush is hosting the newest reality show, Grease: You're The One That I Want every Sunday night. Each week, he'll give us a behind-the-scenes look at the judges' quest for the perfect Danny and Sandy to star in the musical version on Broadway this summer.

Grease_Chad_136.jpgA stunner last night that has me confused. For the past several weeks, David Ian has praised Chad by saying he's got the sex appeal and swagger that could sell him millions of tickets.

Last night, even though Austin received the lowest number of votes, he was saved over Chad by the panel. The reason given by Kathleen Marshall was that he was more of a triple threat (a better prospect when considering singing, dancing and acting combined).

I like Austin a lot, but to me its more about the 'x factor' that Danny Zuko has loads of. More than anyone in the competition, Chad has that. He's a stud. I think David may have wanted to fight a little harder for his ticket salesman.

Finally, I shed my first tears on stage... thankfully the show had gone off the air minutes before. My eight-year-old daughter, who has a sweet crush on Chad, came up on stage in tears. Chad picked her up in his arms and told her it was okay. That he'd be fine. Her tears dried up, and mine began. He's my daughter's first crush, and I approve.

That piece that you wrote on Chad and your daughter's first crush and the judges' puzzling decision is so beautiful. Thank you for really caring about these people and for having great taste too. You're a passionate man, and that's a change in this business.

This was such a beautiful thing to say about Chad. He was the best on the show and a great talent. It was such a strange decision that the judges made. Thank you for believing in Chad. He deserves it.

Thank you for saying these lovely things about Chad. I agree with you in thinking that Chad has the "x-factor" needed for the role of Danny Zuko.

Your daughter sounds lovely. It appears that her good taste in men is developing quite well. Enjoy her because they grow up soo fast.

Your daughter can sure pick 'em! They really lost out on this one... Chad's going to be the "Jennifer Hudson" of this series... It's shame he won't be THEIR box office smash.

Billy- It was so wonderful to read your heartfelt words about Chad. I, too, was shocked when he was voted off, and felt that they had lost out on a fantastic talent. That said, I'm sure Chad would appreciate your kindness and sincerity--you are a credit to your profession! :)

Billy-That's great and SO TRUE. This production can open and close at this point because they've got no REAL Danny! Hopefully they'll find an awesome understudy...! Your sentiments are spot on. The bad news is you're really going to have to muster up a smile and some enthusiasm for 2 more weeks! I really thought America was going to get to vote, but as it turns out, it wasn't true at all. Chad never had the lowest number of votes.

Billy,

Right on for you, I am still baffled myself that Chad Dorreck has been knocked out. And you should be happy Sir, your daughter has good taste. She clearly fell for the Danny with the most talent and the one that should have been the winner.

Regards,
Cabot

Billy wonderful words said about Chad. He is a beautiful human being and deserves all of this and more. One of the great things about this is that we all get to stand back and watch as a STAR rises before our eyes.

What a loss for the show!! At least there are lots of people out there, including you, who have faith in Chad and will continue to support him in his career. Thanks you for being so public about it and for sharing it with his old and new fans. The show has launched a new star! And for that Chad's supporters, old and new, are grateful.
