Simon Cowell Says He's Bigger Than Bruce Springsteen

Simon Cowell has a very healthy ego. On this Sunday's 60 Minutes he talks about his fame with CNN's Anderson Cooper and tells him that he is five times more valuable to the recording label Sony BMG than Bruce Springsteen. He says: "If [Springsteen] got 100 [million dollars], I should have got 500."

Dude, Simon, don't be talking that way about "The Boss." He's the original American Idol.

Simon Cowell is not a fraction of the artist, performer, musician, humanitarian, human being that Bruce Springsteen is.Simon Cowell makes his living off of his trademark unabashed cruelty to others. His pathetic brand of entertainment is what the meanest bullies in school used to do-make fun of people without a care to their personhood or feelings. The fact that he boasts about how he behaves instead of being emabrassed by it reveals his utter lack of humanity. Cowell is the ultimate coward.

Bruce Springsteen has an opus that spans almost 40 years and contains some of the most gut wrenching, soul searching, heart filling music that exists. His live performances, while legendary for their length, are also once in a lifetime experiences because of how Bruce gives and gives and gives and just when you are sure there cannot be another ounce of sweat to pour or another syllable to sing, he gives more. Bruce's music and life makes him far bigger in every way than Cowell could ever even dream. Mimi Rothschild
