Was this season as good as previous ones? I thought it was a bit boring. Of course there were ups, but did Blake and Jordin really deserve to be the final two? How did Sanjaya get as far as he did? And what of all the 'vote for the worst' campaigns? Will Jordin even be remembered next year? Taylor Hicks sure has made it?!?! Sincere congratulations to Jordin, she was the best of the two, but is being the best of this bunch saying a whole lot?

Last night was SO anti-climatic. Every one knew Jordin was going to win at that point. I agree she was the better of the final two, but Melinda was my favorite and after she got booted, I didn't really care.

A lot of people are saying that this year's American Idol contest was based on popularity and not vocal talent. A popularity contest (normally, meaning beauty, looks, and body appeal) ranks it's contestants on "Who is The Fairest of Them All!" With the popularity "Crown" going to the one who is the most good looking and the most fit. If this was a popularity contest then either A.) The show was rigged in the first place or B.) America has apparently lost its eye for fashion and beauty. And that is a lie because if America lost it's eye for fashion and beauty then we wouldn't be parading around these concepts by promoting famous persons such as Britney Spears and Paris Hilton with their panties hanging out all throughout magazines and showing pics of stick then models. All while promoting this image to young girls saying

"Hey...this is how you should look!!!" Because most obviously, Jordin Sparks has neither charm nor beauty

and the body - forget it!

So if this year's American Idol contest was all about popularity, then something is wrong because Jordin

Sparks WON! And she most definitely is NOT beautiful or thin and doesn't even fit the description of what

America likes to promote to young girls about beauty.

Melinda should have won. I didn't care who won last night. I think Jordin will be just as popular (or unpopular) as Taylor and Ruben. No offense but they are just plain boring. At least Blake was different and original. You don't hear too many like him and his performance with Doug E Fresh was so hot that Jordin standing straight all the time barely moving while she sings is pretty pathetic. Honestly though, look at Chris Daughtry who didn't win. He is way hot and deserves all the success he has received and will continue to receive. Sometimes it doesn't really matter who wins "American Idol".

Melinda was definitely the best singer of the whole bunch. This year was one of the worst Idols I have seen and I even stopped watching until I heard Sanjaya was off the show. I also couldn't take another week of the beat box. Taylor had not business winning last year and Jordan should have been third.

This was a singing contest, and yes Melinda was a great singer but so was Jordin as for looks I think everyone should stop thinking of size and think of talent. Jordin is a very attactive girl with a great voice. Melinda will do just fine. she is very talented.Blake cant hold a candle to those two girls.

I was very annoyed that the finale was boring, and they went overtime with the announcement, then didn't even let us see her enjoying her win, or with her family. Poorly done.

Jordin absolutely deserved to win last night. Although all along I felt Melinda was the BEST. Jordin is young and will continue to flourish. Beautiful girl great voice. Melinda may have a better opportunity to forge ahead on her own. She is awesome: entertainer, stage presence, etc. She is already groomed.

After Melinda was voted off I did not watch the final show. I voiced my displeasure by turning the channel. This is the first year I did not watch the final show. Melinda is the American Idol and will make more money than Jordin.

I happen to have enjoyed Sanjaya's performance. I really enjoyed seeing Stephanie.she went out b4 time. Carrie was great. so smooth. Kelly Clarkson is really getting fat. atleast she's realistic. not sure if i enjoyed her performance though. i really enjoyed Melinda's performance with Bebe and Cece. that was awsome. the guys were good. i was happy to see Chris (my justin).i guess the show wasnt that bad but truthfully as Randy always said "I wasn't jumping up and down."

If this is about talent, then the finale should have been Jordin and Melinda. Blake should have been gone long ago, even before Chris Richardson. As for it being rigged - how stupid are you people. You voted. Look how long you let Sanjaya stay in. I don't see how anyone can say Blake had talent - he couldn't sing. He could only make stupid noises. Basically no better than Sanjaya. As for people saying someone shouldn't win because of they're not beautiful, or making comments about someone's weight, SHAME ON YOU! Jordin is unoriginal. How many singers are exactly like her out there? I cannot see her being successful, and ending up as the next Taylor Hicks, rather than the next Kelly Clarkson. Booooring.

While I liked Melinda. I'm glad she got voted off. Here's why. Besides Kelly and Carrie have we really heard any good songs from past winners?? Look at Jennifer Hudson. She was voted off. And, she won an Oscar. Clay didn't win. But, he has done fairly well for himself. Just because someone doesn't win doesn't mean that they can't or won't have a career after AI.

I voted for talent not for "looks" that's the problem in this country. We have singers who can't really sing. But, they can show some skin and we forget all about the fact that they have no talent. If you don't believe me. Watch MTV.

Blake Lewis has great talent and to me, will always be a winner. As soon as he releases a CD, I will be one of the first in line to buy it. I don't care if he's singing or beat boxing, he has a new, fresh sound. If Jordin and Blake weren't on Idol, and all of a sudden were played on the radio, who would you remember? Blake already is rumored to have some big record deal, and that was no surprise at all to me. Heck, if I was his age and single, I might even chase him around on tour! But, that's besides the point. Melissa Dolittle should have been the next American Idol,hands down.The young lady had the vocals and the stage presence.The show should be rename "The Next American Model.Blake should have come in second.He also had vocals and stage presence.Whereas Jordin did not have stage presence and mess up on several songs,so how in the world did she get to become the next american idol.The show is suppose to be about your singing ability not who the prettiest is.I'm with Cajuncocoa, when Melinda was voted off last week, I didn't care who won between Jordin and Blake but in the end I was rooting for Blake.I'm glad I didn't watch the season finale.Jordin Sparks is an attractive young lady but she look much older than her 17 years, she could stand to lose a few pounds.She has no stage presence and her vocals are just okay.I also agree with Kat,Jordin should have come in 3rd place.No way Sanjaya was better than Blake.I happen to like Sanjaya but he could not for the life of him carry a tune.

I think if Sanjaya receive some voice lessons he could go far.Look at Mary J.Blige.People said she couldn't sing well,the girl took voice lessons and look at her now, she's Queen of Hip Hop.I don't think I will be watching American Idol when it returns next season.I am highly disappointed.......

Jordin and Blake were good, but Lakeisha and Melinda were excellent. I was floored when those two talented young ladies were not the final two. However, regardless of who won, all four of these young people have excellent, musical careers ahead of them. The show this year had far more talent than last year.

I think Blake should've won even though he did beat-boxing.That's his thing.He was cute and sexy.He is so hot.If I wasn't so young then I would follow him.

Everyone who watched the show knew that Melinda should have won, hands down. Look what happen to T.Gray, Jennifer Hudson,other great vocals, they are doing great, Idol is for starters, not great,great singers already who can really put it down. Some can sing,great singer can SANG!

I think Melinda was definitely the best singer in this competion, but Jordin was much better than Blake. Personally, I am tiring of Idol. It needs a new shot of energy.

I think jordin is VERY good and derserved to win, but the voting was stupid a lot of the time. How the heck did Melinda get voted off?! And sanjiya (Sp.?)?! NO ONE LIKED HIM! How did he stay so long :| I only watched the ending of each show to see the review of it all or w.e. and most of the time i just asked who got voted off. and the last one, i just watched the last minute of it, why was it like 2 hours just to say jordin won? Duh! It was kinda boring this season, but jordin rocks and i'm glad she won.

I feel that Jordin deserved to win. All the rest were good but she was great. Look at Jennifer Hudson she was a plus size but has done more than most of the Idols have ever done. Even though she didn't win. Everyone always talking but Jordin's size disregarding her hardwork, talent, and poise. Society is always talking about the outside of the person instead of the inside of the person. I say we stop talking about the way one looks and talk about what great things we expect them to accomplish. Yes the other contestants were good. But it's all over. Look at Ruben Studdard he's a big man but we make him a teddy bear. However, with Jordin we want her to fail because she's a plus sized woman. We need to begin to look beyond gender and the perfect. Because most skinny celebrities lose there touch after awhile. Think about it in the end when you buy a cd, you buy it for the sound quality, not because what the cover looks like.

First, congratulations to Jordin. I wouldn't want to take anything away from her win, because the public chose her, after all. I didn't find the finale terribly exciting, but she was ecsatic to win, and good for her.

That said, Melinda D was and always will be the best thing to happen to this otherwise lackluster season, and I look forward to buying her many fabulous CDs.
