Big Love Recap 7/30/07

bill-and-wives-web.jpg Bill is one lucky guy — he has three doting wives and gets to have sex with a different one every night. I'm pretty sure this is every man’s dream. This week, the show takes a risqué turn, as it delves into the physical relationships between Bill and his wives. And the episode does not shy away from showing its viewers the dirty details. I could hardly believe my eyes! With all of the sex Bill gets, you’d think he was content. However, we learn that he needs a night off from his ladies… The wives, especially Nicky and Barb, do not like this idea and neither do I — Bill may be the most selfish man ever! Although, why should he expect anything less, when he gets everything and anything he wants anyway?

I think Bill realizes his own self-indulgence, when his own son reveals that he is no longer a virgin. Bill has been focusing too much on himself and not enough on his children, who need him to help lead them on the “path to righteousness.” Although, Ben is not following in his father’s footsteps, and this is considered a bad thing, I sympathize with Ben and his relationship. Because he wants to be accepted by his father, he proposes to his girlfriend, Brynn, and then tells his family he plans to have more than one wife… Barb is angry and saddened by this fact, and so, she explains the world of polygamy to Brynn, letting her know what she is in for. In the end of the episode, the relationship falls apart. Poor Ben!

Parallel to all of the sexual action going on in this episode is the twisted story of Bill’s business relationships. Bill plays on both sides of the war between Roman and the Greenes, making us question his morality. Here, the show does what it does best; it exposes numerous character twists. Bill’s actions result in Roman death at the end of the episode. I could not believe it. This week’s show was filled with so much drama!

Whoever posted that comment earlier today clearly does not understand what the purpose of these recaps is. They are merely summaries of the episode described and they are not meant to pass any judgement whatsoever on the episode. Clearly the writer of the recap has an opinion, but it's obvious that he or she has only given their opinion as a means of adding some humor and sarcasm to the summary. Rocksolid- this is very obviously not the appropriate forum for your comments.
