Hey Paula Finale
As a treat for those of us who have watched all 3.5 hours of Paula’s hectic life in front of the camera, we were given flashbacks of classic moments through the season, never-before-seen clips, bloopers and a sentimental ending.
In the midst of all of that, it was as though scenes were shoved in just to fill space, or more importantly, plug some of Paula’s peeps and projects. She paid an unexpected visit to her best friend/hair stylist Daniel at his salon, and expected him to do her hair, as well as her assistant’s. Later, Daniel showed us how Paula sleeps while he does her makeup. We’re talking mascara, eye liner and all! So she’s an insomniac who snoozes while being made over. Interesting. Wonder if Mabelline has a wake-up proof mascara.
We also caught Paula on a business call while at a doctor appointment. I suppose the point was to let everyone know that her boobs are real, as opposed to what was suggested in a rag article she was discussing with her publicist … while she had blood taken! Ick!
The biggest plugs of all were for Paula’s new reality show, Shut Up And Dance, for which she auditioned dancers, and Dr. Song, the dude giving her a massage while Access Hollywood was at her house. She explained to AH’s Billy Bush that when she tripped over her dog (which made national headlines for some reason!), she didn’t break her nose, but she did tear cartilage, hurt her hip and chip a tooth. Surely, there was more exciting entertainment news to report than Paula getting a rub down and clarifying her fall. (And you thought the Paris in prison coverage was ridiculous!)
Paula met with her old record producer, and they plan to work together again. Straight up, a hit album for Abdul is as likely as Britney making a comeback by actually singing. Besides, like the producer told Ms. Paula, “For nowadays, your butt needs to get a little bigger.” Way to point out that she’s no Beyonce.
What was the point of seeing Paula, who was riding in a limo, watch a movie she made when she was 11? Anyone?
The last celeb duty we tagged along with Paula to was a guest voice over for Family Guy. She was in and out of there in no time and suggested that next time she voices a part, she get to say something shocking like, “You suck.” May I suggest something more shocking like, “Yes, it’s all vodka in my cup while I judge.” This was funny though: “I’ve impressed more guys on dates with the Family Guy way more than being a judge on American Idol,” she pointed out.
Guess that’s how she roped in restaurateur J.T., Paula’s new boyfriend who threw her a birthday party at his hot spot Ketchup and surprised her by having her parents, sister and nephews there.
Paula ended her series with these kind, slightly delusion words: “I’m so filled with gratitude to those of you who have supported my dreams for so many years. I hope that you have enjoyed watching my life. I’m so humbled that I have had longevity in this business, and I thank all of you for being there by my side through the good and the bad. I will always remain forever your girl.”
Since there will unlikely be a second season of Hey Paula, keep what you learned from these 7 episodes fresh in your mind at all times. Paula Abdul is a very busy woman. She juggles a lot of different projects and doesn’t have time to sleep, and that’s why she looks so out of it 90% of the time. This “American Sweetheart” would never lie. “I don’t do recreational drugs and I don’t get drunk on television.”
Hmm. All that insight into her life and I still don’t buy it.

i really liked the last episode. it was good that the show ended with a positive episode. and come on, she doesnt look "out of it" 90 % of the time. I think she behaves just fine at least 75 % of the time.
I hope the new man of Paula Abdul will really love her.
You are such a hater...Paula put her life out there. We all got to see a side to Paula that only close people to her would experience. I saw all 7 episodes and could related to her more. People take advantage of her, put her down for nearly everything she does yet she tries to put on a brave face for you stupid tabloid writers.
Paula Abdul's last episode was the best. I enjoyed watching her family all together at one time. Paula has been hurt physically, spiritually, emotionally yet continues to do her thing. I really like the fact that despite all, she is trying to get back to her music roots. She is not Beyonce, she is not Britney, she is PAULA ABDUL and was a roll model to all of these girls who say the whole video package of music and videos...REMEMBER THAT.
THANK YOU PAULA. You are a great salesperson, and a blessing.
Thank you, MrOshun. Well said.

Look, that's just the way she is so live with it. I love Paula. And besides, that show is so funny. It's better reality TV than THE SIMPLE LIfE.
