America's Next Top Model Recap: 9/26/2007
Even Top Model is following the latest Hollywood trend. They’re going green! From the girls’ biodeisel bus to their green-themed home and a ten-minute limit on their showers, ANTM seems to be all about the environment this season.
Tyra is not stopping at environmental issues though. The first photo shoot addresses one of the biggest health issues of our time -- the effects of smoking. The girls take two photos: a glamorous shot with a cigarette in hand and a second shot that depicts the nasty consequences of smoking.
But really, what’s a first photo shoot without a few cat claws coming out? And it’s only the second episode!
On with the catfight! Round 1: Bianca vs. Lisa.
Bianca has some nerve! Okay we get it, exotic dancing in a bikini isn’t the most honorable job out there, but is that really reason enough to rip into Lisa and make her cry? Beyond her job, Lisa’s smart, funny, and after her first photo shoot -- it’s apparent she could make one hell of a model (even the judges were pleased with Lisa’s first photo). It’s obvious that Bianca finds Lisa to be a threat and is using whatever she can to bring her down.
When Lisa tries to initiate a truce to the fight she didn’t even start, Bianca apologizes but then tells cameras that she only did so because she didn’t want the issue to come up in front of the judges! Am I crazy or do you guys think Bianca’s a bona fide mean girl?
Moving on to one of my favorite models: Heather. I would think twice about giving this girl the underdog label. Heather may seem distant and awkward to the other finalists, but the camera absolutely loves her! As do the judges -- Tyra, Nigel, Twiggy, and Miss J!
The girls discuss how socially awkward they find Heather to be. Except Miss Smarty Pants Victoria from Yale. She is nice and stays out of it. On the other hand, Kimberly says she won’t reach out to Heather as much because she doesn’t want to be the one Heather clings to! Was anyone else beaming from ear to ear when Tyra called Heather’s name first during the elimination round? Take that Kimberly!
The 13 finalists show up before the panel of judges in outfits they selected during a ten-minute shopping spree at Old Navy with posing instructor, Benny Ninja. The girl with the best outfit, Saleisha, wins a $1,000 shopping spree to Old Navy and also gets the chance to be in an Old Navy ad!
After viewing all of the photos, it seems the judges are the least pleased with Ebony and Mila. Although Nigel thinks Ebony is the most beautiful, the judges feel that she isn’t being herself in front of the camera. They also think Mila is relying too heavily on her pretty looks to get by. Ultimately, it’s Mila who is sent home packing.
Stay tuned to see who will win the grand prize: a contract with Elite Model Management, a 6-page spread in Seventeen Magazine, and a $100,000 contract with Cover Girl.

I'm with you, I love Heather too!!! I hope she wins it all!! I'm kinda glad Mila's gone, I didn't warm up to her and I really don't think she's that pretty!!!
Mila annoyed me. Too perky. I think everyone likes Heather now. I noticed that Kimberly was one of the last to be called. haha take that!
I really like the girls this season on ANTM my favorite model is Lisa, I really do hope she wins. I hope ebony steps her game up i would really like to see Ebony and Lisa in the finals.
OK so these girls are supposed to be runway couture models right?
And then they are asked to pick out an outfit from Old Navy??
The complete opposite from the runway model.
Of course Old Navy bought that advertising, but just thought it was kind of interesting... did anyone else catch that?
I dont think Mila was that pretty.
I think Ebony is the prettiest but Heather and the girl from Yale, Victoria, appear to be the most interesting on camera.
Kind of in the way that those twins Amanda and Michelle were a few seasons ago, sometimes its cooler to be a little more edgy and intereting then just pretty.
There are so many girls I like this season! Heather, Lisa, Ebony, and Victoria are by far my favorites. I also think Kimberly and the blonde, Chantal, are very pretty. I can't wait for the makeovers and the rest of the season.
