Dancing With The Stars Recap: The Results

bottom2 wk3.1.jpg(Sigh of relief). I don’t think there is one person who watched the show last night that was disappointed. I know I said before that I would support Wayne Newton all the way to the end, and this was his end. My only regret now is that he wasn’t bade farewell a week sooner, thus saving young Albert Reed, who was full of potential, not to mention a chiseled chest and boyish good looks. Even my boyfriend’s grandmother agrees, Wayne really should not have lasted as long as he did.

Floyd Mayweather joined Wayne in the bottom two. He started the season out a little cocky, but I think it’s gradually sinking in that he needs more float than sting to stay in this thing. Apparently he’ll be dancing the paso doble next week, the bullfighter’s dance, a dance for the man to really showcase himself. Bring it on, Floyd, because this will be a fickle fight all the way.

Seal performed his Grammy winning hit “Kiss From a Rose” and his new single “Amazing.” What was even more amazing than his performance was the dance by Karina and Maksim. They really are incredible. I couldn’t help but wonder, though, are the judges capable of sitting back and enjoying the professional dances or are they chomping at the bit, silently critiquing? Billy Ray Cyrus, a Dancing with the Stars alum from season four, returned to the stage last night, this time to do what he does best: croon a smooth tune. Joining him was his daughter Miley, a.k.a. Hannah Montana. I never saw an episode of Billy Ray dancing, but from what I’ve heard, it’s best he stick to singing.

Host Samantha Harris returns next week, and so we say goodbye to Drew Lachey. Don’t be too sad, he’ll be back at ABC in January to host a new show, complete with Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. I am way excited to see the paso doble and the Viennese waltz next week. It just keeps getting better all the time. See you next week!

P.S. If you haven’t been to abctvstore.com yet, I suggest you visit. There is a Dancing with the Stars video game for the Nintendo Wii, a cardio dance video and a book!

Agree it was time for Mr. Las Vegas / charming Wayne Newton to go. But I'll miss him; he is such a genuine gentleman. Cheryl has never been booted off so early but it was the luck of the draw for her Star partner this year.
Floyd better nail that Paso Doble next week or he may get the boot. Looking forward to it, it is gonna be fun!

Nice recap! You didn't miss much not seeing Billy Ray dance other than his audience command :) - he can play to a crowd. And lasted much longer than I anticipated. So far as Wayne Newton (I've blogged how painful it was to watch him), he did impress me with his riff on "stepping out of the comfort zone". Keep up the good work!
