TV Recap: Dancing With The Stars, The Results
Well crap. Of course Marie Osmond was going to make it to the finals. It’s all those Osmonds, I’m telling you. I knew when she was the first contestant announced safe that either Jennie Garth or Helio Castroneves were going home. Sure enough, Melanie Brown was announced safe next leaving...Jennie and Helio. Poor Jennie. Gone is the real girl whom everyone in the crowd could relate to. I don’t think she would have won, but I definitely think she deserved a real shot.

And of course we don’t know if Helio really joined Jennie in the bottom two or if ABC simply rigged it that way to make us all sweat. As the last man standing, Helio certainly earned his spot in the finals. And so did Mel. Marie even said herself that if she makes it to the finals, she owes it all to the fans. This is a dancing competition, not a popularity contest. Oh wait. It’s reality television.
As much as I don’t want to, I actually really kinda like Avril Lavigne. She sang “Hot” and “Complicated.” I was hoping she’d sing one of her new, slower songs, but the latter was the one that made her big, I get it. Joining Avril as special eye candy were Sabrina Bryan and boyfriend Mark Ballas, who danced their butts off (literally, I could see Sabrina’s panties!). It was the best performance they did all season. As far as Miss Canadia is concerned, I liked the hot pink microphone and guitar (and so did my five-year-old nephew, he’s big into color right now, and the guitar, and thought it was neat that all her stuff was such a bright color). The pink in her hair was subtle and she looked very feminine, a nice change from the grungy, poser wanna-be rock star look she used to sport. Although I can’t be completely sure of the details as I was blinded by that ginormous rock on her hand.
In the Stars of Dance portion of the show, Michael Flatley, a.k.a. Lord of the Dance a.k.a. Billion Dollar Dancer, proved all his nicknames and then some when he did a new little dance number. Irish dancing is absolutely mind-boggling. The dancers’ lines were impeccable, their feet never missed a beat, it was enchanting. I could have done without the sailor outfits, but what more can you expect from a man who makes his living prancing around in tap shoes? Okay, so it’s not exactly prancing. I’ve tried Irish dancing and it ain’t easy. The steps are very precise and very tricky. Attempting such an intricate style of dance is not for the faint of heart.
Some former stars joined Kenny Mayne in dance rehab to rehash all the issues that keep them attached to their runs on the show. Kenny is funny. Lisa Rinna really does need to lay off the self-tanner.
From what I hear, this is the most dramatic season yet. The media has been all over it, what with all the fainting, surprises and overall losses (pounds, parents, participants). No one knows who will pull it out next week. I don’t even think it matters how the stars dance at this point, the viewers have their favorites already picked out. So all we can do now is sit back and watch. And I suppose if you care to humor yourself, you can vote.

I missed the Result show, great recap , thanks really Happy that M & M will be there for the finale.
I like marie Osmond, but feel she
did not deserve to win period. Derrick
and his partner are much better dancers. Shame!
Julianne & Helio should win the trophy.
They are great...
I like Marie also, but boy she really should of been out a couple of shows ago. It's just like highschool doesn't matter what you bring to the table the popular girl always wins. Marie should also be ashamed of herself for constantly throwing in, but I'm 48. hey I'm 46 and I want to be thought of as god she's great, not she's great for her age.
The main reason I DON'T watch, is because it is NOT about talent, but about popularity.
I was a fan of The Donny and Marie show when I was a kid and was happy to see she was joining the cast of DWTS this season. In the beginning I was really pulling for her, hoping to see her do well, but never really thinking she would go too far. She's a great performer but not the best dancer out there and I'll be really disappointed if she makes the top two, let alone wins the whole thing! Meanwhile, if I never have to see Donny Osmond again on Entertainment Tonight it'll be too soon!! Every night..."lost footage of Donny and Marie"....."Donny and Marie, their tragic secret"....blah, blah, blah...how much longer can they bleed out these story lines!!! And all his "critiques" and behind the scenes reporting from the dancing show? How about someone with a little less bias! I wouldn't be at all surprised that come next season, Donny will be out there himself, paired up with Edyta or Kim or someone...there's no way they're going to give up all this huge publicity and renewed public interest in the Osmonds!
I really wanted Jennie to win. That sucks.
is she still a single? someone posted on yahoo answers that she has an profile on an online site sugarmommymeet.. you know it is a adu*t site for men to seek sexy girls or women.. what a slur!
Marie sucks. Jennie deserved to be in the top 3. Who in their right mind would ever think that Marie is a better dancer than Jennie. What a JOKE! They must be BLIND! The problem with this show is that you can start voting as soon as the show comes on the air. How is that really a dance competition. More like a popularity contest.
Great. Thanks!
wonderful show
my guy comes from sugarmommymeet is one of the actor of this show
I along with half the people commenting on this site feel that Marie should never have gotten this far. The "well staged" fainting incident, her brother's explanation, "this has happened before" to her. I thought ABC had this show up to acknowledge the best dancer and I also agree that Donnie SHOULD GIVE IT UP ON HIS COMMENTARY. Are we doing commentary on the other stars and what they were doing way back then? Of course not. Tell ABC to bring this show back to "who is the best dancer" - not who has the best fan base and gathers the most sympathy. I do not want a "pity vote" to win the contest - just the best dancer!
GIVE ME A BREAK PLEASE!
I really think it is so unfair of ABC to have the voting start before all the dances have been done. The show keeps on telling us how hard these stars work and how much time it takes to learn and practice the dances. So let the best dancers win not the most dramatic. Shame on the judges too for giving Marie such high marks when the rest of the stars are all far above Marie's attempts. So what if she is almost 50!
I LIKE MARIE. SHE HAS MADE A MISTAKE OR TWO, HOWEVER, THAT DOES NOT MAKE HER ANYTHING LESS THAN GREAT. SHE REMINDS ME OF A BETTY BOOP DOLL AND DOES A SPLENDID JOB EVERYTIME SHE STEPS ON THE STAGE. AND SHE CARRIES HER AGE AND EXPERIANCE VERY WELL.
Marie Osmond??Jennie Garth??Helio Castroneves ??Avril Lavigne??
They are gorgeous. seems saw them before on a celebrity and millioniare dating site like sugarmatchmaker.com or something. But don't know if it is them?
