Actors are Boycotting the Globes

Here's the rundown so far of the actors who have stated they won't be crossing the picket lines to attend The Golden Globes:

Katherine Heigl (nominated for Grey's Anatomy): "I'm not crossing the picket line, not unless I'm contractually obliged to do, which, with the Golden Globes, I'm not."

Jeremy Piven (nominated for Entourage): "I don't know about whether or not I'll be attending because to be honest with you, I don't know a lot about the rules and limitations of what is happening. I need to look into it. Writers are kind of these unsung heroes. People don't see how much these guys work and they're just trying to cover their bases for themselves and for the future. I hope they get what they deserve and I'll do anything I can to help that."

Glenn Close (nominated for Damages): "I would never cross a picket line."

James McAvoy (nominated for Atonement): "I don't think I'd want to do that. It's an environment I wouldn't want to stick my nose into. I'm not from this country and for me to stick my nose and throw my small weight around wouldn't be right."

David Cronenberg (nominated for Eastern Promises): "It would be very hard for me to cross a WGA picket line. Everybody will have the same problem. It's very unfornuate and an issue that won't go away."

Matt Weiner: (executive producer of Mad Men): "I will not cross the picket line. I'm mystified at the aggressive stance from the producers, shocked by it. It's a crucial period in entertainment."

Jon Hamm: (nominated for Mad Men): "There's no way I would cross a picket line. Not only in respect to Matt, but I'm in 100% agreement with him in this fight. It would be a drag not to go but you have to take a stand."

Andy Serkis: (nominated for Longford): "I certainly wouldn't cross the picket lines."

We might as well boycott the Globes; in theory, there won't be anyone to watch. The funny thing is this: will the actors still accept their awards? Via mail, UPS, Pony Express...? What about the tech awards? The PA's, Interns...geez, this is ridiculous...ON BOTH SIDES.

Not watching the Globes or any Award Show till this strike is resolved. I am a TV viewer and the writers deserve their share of the pie as much as the producers, actors, and crews not matter where it is shown whether it be in a theater, television, on-line or on the side of a building. Everyone involved in a project should be compensated for as long as the project is financially viable and when one gets paid they all get paid.

Not many celebrities share a penney of their wealth? Are you kidding me? THEY ALL DO. Thats right. They all STEP IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA AND WRITE A CHECK. They also run their mouths about poverty, starvation, human rights, ect. Its just business. If you're a public figure, your people arrange for you to be involved with some 'humanitarian' effort. Its just that simple. Michael Vicks (dog fighting), Marc Anthony (tax evasion), Bernie Ebbers (Worldcom scam), Jeffery Skilling and Kenneth Lay (Enron), Martha Stewart (insider trading), Paris, Britney, Lindsey, ect. IT IS A SHAM. These people don't want to make the world a better place. They want to APPEAR AS IF THEY DO. IT MAKES THEM RICHER (think sponsors, endorsements, contracts, free air time, publicity, and IMAGE). Its all just business. Nothing but worthless tax deductable PR CRAP. WAKE UP CELEBRITY JUNKIES. NO HUMANITARIAN WOULD DELIBERATELY EXPAND THE GAP BETWEEN THE RICH AND POOR. EXTREME WEALTH MAKES WORLD PROSPERITY ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE.
