The Hills Looks Back: The Old Heidi
Did you watch The Hills retrospective this weekend?
As a Hills junkie, a two-hour look-back was more than I could ask for. I had completely forgotten about the Lauren-Stephen-Kristin triangle (it seems like years ago!). Seeing the Jason-Jessica kiss at the fashion show made me hate Jason even more -- who knew it was possible?
But there was one part of this "Lauren Looks Back" episode that had me jumping for joy... seeing Heidi and Lauren on Laguna Beach. During the Laguna days, we had no idea that a girl named Heidi Montag even existed. Now, as this two-hour special showed, Heidi was at that fashion show where Jason and Jessica shared their infamous kiss. In fact, Heidi even strutted down the runway with Kristin Cavallari. As Lauren said in her narration, she should have known then that trouble was ahead.
Heidi looked so... normal. First of all, she was as flat-chested as could be, and her hair was a disaster (I guess fame really does help with that). But those flaws made her seem like a regular gal.
I had interviewed Heidi back in the day when she was nice. She didn't come off as the smartest girl on the block, but at least she was a great friend to Lauren. She told me, "I have a good heart. I'm not all jokes. I'm a pretty serious person sometimes. I'm very very hardworking. I'm very academic."
Then later in the interview, she said, "I've always been this way. This is who I am. Take it or leave it. You'll either hate me or you'll love me. I have a strong personality, which isn't necessarily good or bad. I really don't mind what people in Oklahoma -- who I don't know -- think of me. I really only care about the people in my life."
The problem is that this sentiment used to be okay for Heidi. But now that's she's trying to launch a singing career and a fashion line (to compete with Miss Conrad?), it does matter what us little folk think.
Did you like Heidi in her pre-Spencer days? Do you like her now? Has Spencer ruined her completely? Is there any hope for her future?

I think that Heidi and Kristin (from Laguna) should team together.....that would be funny.....or if Jason or Brody hooked up with Kristin
brody and kristin dated for like a year and a half
i agree. i remember i really liked season 1 heidi. she was there for lauren when her and jason fought(remember the new years episode, she left the party just to make sure lauren was okay because jason was being a jerk) and she actually stood up to jordan and broke things off with him when she realized that they were no good together (though he seems like a saint compared to the devils spawn spencer).
I no longer like Heidi. She's trouble!! During the "Lauren Looks Back" special, I saw things I had long forgot:
-Heidi pushed Lauren into meeting Brody (Spencer probably suggested it). She gave Brody Lauren's number without telling Lauren and when he called, Heidi rushed to answer the phone so Lauren had to take the call. Awkward!
-Heidi was a great friend until she changed so much to be with Spencer. Ewww!
-Audrina told Heidi that Spencer was a "dirt bag" and laid out how Spencer had been hitting on Audrina (bringing her flowers) while also attempting to romance Heidi during the same time.
-Heidi was cold to Audrina when she suspected Audrina might be after Spencer. Heidi stopped talking to her because of it. Clearly Heidi prefers to chose Spencer over her friends. First she did it with Audrina and now with Lauren.
To quote Elodie: "it's just so sad!"
I like Lauren, but I always thought they should have given Kristin a spinoff show, I thought she was the more interesting Laguna Beacher.
I think LC and Heidi were differnt people then, LC and Heidi are done, there is no friendship left there anymore.. who can blame LC for wanting to forget Heidi!! I think Heidi looks so pathetic when she is with spencer she has the look of missing her best friends, (her firends in general) she has no one except for spencer.. J-bubby has somewhat became friends with LC again..
