American Idol: What to Expect

The auditions are over and it’s time to watch some serious talent make or break their chances of being Season 7’s idol.

Right now, there are 164 contestants.  And as far as each one is concerned, they have what it takes to be a star.

At the end of this upcoming week, only 24 will “make it.”  And before we know it, it will be mid-March.  That’s when we find out which contestants will be featured on the annual American Idol CD.

We all have busy lives, but month by month… American Idol fans make ridiculous amounts of time to watch and root for their favorite singers.

Here’s a schedule you can set your DVR by.

Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 12-13

Hollywood Round I  8:00-10:00

Hollywood Round II 8:00-9:00

This Tuesday, AI hopefuls will put their money where their mouths are.

Who has what it takes to move on from here?

Round One, Hollywood is a two hour show starting at 8:00.

The top 24 contestants will be revealed the following day from 8:00-9:00.

Simon, Randy and Paula will break it down for the remaining contestants… until there are only 12 boys and 12 girls.

The next week, switches to a three day bonanza.

That means it’s time for you to get involved!

The first vote off show of the season will be Feb 21.

Four contestants will be sent packing.

Tuesday-Thursday, Feb. 19-21

Both performance shows air on Tues and Wed from 8:00 to 10:00 this week.

The 12 remaining female vocalists will have the same amount of time to prove themselves on Feb. 20.

The first LIVE results show airs Thursday, Feb. 21.

Two guys and gals with the fewest votes - will be sent home.

For the next two weeks after this, the males will always perform on Tuesdays, the females on Wednesdays and the LIVE results show airs on Thursdays.

All that joy… will come to an end for one contestant with the least amount of votes during the half hour March 12 vote-off show.

It's hard to believe it has come down to Hollywood. It seems like a long ordeal but it will be over before we know it. I can't wait until I actually have someone or maybe two or three to cheer for. I auditions are fun but this part is exciting. We get to participate
