Real Housewives of NYC

E_RealHousewivesNY_350.jpgSo, what did you think?

When I last wrote about The Real Housewives of Orange County, it turned out that I wasn't alone in my obsession with the show.

As I watched the premiere, I had the natural reaction of, "Oh my gosh, these women make me sick." Then again, I had that same response after watching the OC ladies, and now I'm addicted to that show.

Perhaps that's why we watch the show? Because these women's lives fascinate us (because they're so absolutely insane), and we're shocked at the fact that they're actually real. Plus, it makes for great comedy.

Now that The Real Housewives of NYC has aired, did you like it? Can you love Alex, Bethenny, Jill, Luann and Ramona as much as Vicki, Jeana, Lauri, Tammy, Tamra, Quinn and even Jo?

I do not think I can love them as much as the OC Real Housewives. Education doesn't impress me, I have a MBA from Duke- yet they are very into explaining their pedigree. The OC girls liked to have fun, showed their problems, and had a loving personality. Some of these housewives-WOW- really feel the need to impress- relax, be yourself that's how you make it in reality tv. And when is the botox episode?

No.. I dont like them as well. I grew up in the OC (north not south) and lived across the street from Phillip, Lauri , Ashley and Josh.. before they moved on to their mansion etc.. I even babysat those kids.. sophie wasn't around yet.. I think thats part of my love for the show.. is the tie I have.. wonder whats up with Mr Phillip Waring.. somebody should check him out.. lauri's ex.

these wives of nyc are so homely and extrememly uppity
they cannot compete with the ladies from orange county.
These women are so stuck on themselves and Audrey should never wrinkle her nose it makes her look really homely
nice try but this group can never compete with the west coast

I love this show. Not crazy about all the women, but there has to be someone to boo! However, I adore Luanne and Jill. We live in completely different realities. Nevertheless, they have warm hearts and I believe that is why the gravitate to each other.

I have lived in NYC and these women are the exception. They all seem to be wannabees that just don't fit in. They use exaggerated NY accents which is so cliche. Their hair always looks sh___y and they look like they shop at Filene's basement. Bethanny needs a total rehaul from her head to her toes. New Yorkers have a lot more class than what they are portraying. I am totally disgusted by the whole scene. Maybe I'll watch a few more episodes just to tsk tsk. As an aside, these people do not look like they have any substantial wealth. What they are getting paid for the show is probably the most money they've had at one time. It's just so fake, especially when one of them considers herself a countess and refers to her own husband as "THE Count". LOL

Watching women act like this is embarrassing. I hope this isn't shown in any other country; it epitomizes 'ugly Americans.' Oh, and can someone tell these women that air quotes are out. Way out.

I really like Jill. She is warm and caring. Alex and Simon are the most pretentious couple. They appear to be "users" and "wannabees" Their house's condition made me laugh. Bethenny appears to drink too much and should think about getting help. Her hair style seems to bother her because she is always pushing it back. But she seems very down to earth and is probably a good friend. Luann is special and very likeable but needs to care more about her children. I do love her insistance on manners though. Adults should be called MR. or Mrs. Today's children call their parent's friends by their first name. Ramona appears to have a Peter Pan syndrome and would probably stab any friend in the back. She is too old to wear the clothing she wears. I would not be surprised if the fashion show episode whre Jill was seated behind Ramona was a set up since during the show, there were two empty seats next to Ramona and friend.
But this is all a reality show which is pandering to viewers, so I do not believe any of it. The whole program is probably a set up. One does not even know if these people were friends before the show. Probably just met for the show.

Ramona is obnoxious & has bad dye job, Jill is a snob (they all are) Alex is just rediculous altogether-get rid of Simon, what an ass!!! Bethenny is over the top but at least she is real. The OC girls are cute & interesting, these girls just suck. Who cares about any of them and their families. Alex, really annoys me - stop spending $$ on your clothes and put some $$ in your gross house. I live in Jersey & have a 100% better home.
You all ought to be embarrassed about being on TV.
Give it up

I was entertained by Alex the most. Love the relationship she has with hubby, want to strangle the beastly child acting out at the dinner party, Alex should just start getting ready in life not to be liked, she has a strong loving family, most people hate this because they miss this the most. Rameana is definetly a TWEAKER, what a horrid woman, her husband should divorce her. How Jill makes it with her husband, eeww, put a bag over his face, her jugs got her alot in life.

I love the show. I think Jill and Bethenny are my favs because they are more real. Can't stand Simon or Alex and I'm loving that the others are now telling them how fake they are. Was Alex a man before? Is that why Simon likes her so much? Simon looks ill in the last episodes all pasty. I hate the new add Kelly she is boring, has no fashion sense and seems to float around on the carey bradshaw carpet.
