The Real Housewives of NYC Episode Recap
On this week's episode of The Real Housewives of NYC…
Alex goes out without her husband! Shocker!
Apparently he said he'd throw on a dress in order to join the festivities, but the rest of the housewives vetoed that idea. Verrrry interesting.
So, all the housewives, minus Ramona (who was out with some other ladies talking about plastic surgery), went out to eat for a dinner that was quickly ruined…by LuAnn sharing the news that her kids all had lice. Lovely dinner conversation, really. Jill was shocked that LuAnn would tell this information to people she barely knew… as we know, these women are all about appearances.
Following the lice talk, LuAnn and Alex started speaking to each other in French and Italian, or both, who knows. Jill's reaction? She was jealous because she can barely speak English. Bethenny's response? She knows French but didn't feel the need to chime in and show off. Jill's next reaction? LuAnn only liked Alex because she could speak a different language.
Pretty sure these women are in constant competition and secretly hate each other.

Back to Ramona and crew at the bar. They got hit on by gross men and took offense to it. Ramona must really love her husband because this situation prompted her to say, "If this is what's out there being single in Manhattan, oh my god I'll stay in my marriage forever."
Enough of her… we're now at the end of the rest of the ladies' dinner, and Jill let's us know she thinks that "Alex passed LuAnn's test." Anyone smell more jealousy and drama down the line because of this?
So, as said earlier, the women are all in constant competition, and I think they also aren't afraid to use each other. Proof is in the pudding: Alex and hubby went to dinner with Jill and hubby to get more connections for private school for their son. Highly doubt they actually went out to help their friendship blossom. Plus, I think Jill gets a kick out of being the one who helps people - not because she has a huge heart - but because she likes people to think highly of her.
And we're off to Bethenny and her networking event. Somehow that transpires into Bethenny letting us know that her father (who helped her get great networking contacts) led to her fear of commitment. She definitely doesn't like her parents to get credit for who she is, as her mantra seems to be: "I raise myself. I support myself."
Moving on...
"I treat the kids like my own."
Guess who said that? Rosanna, LuAnn's housekeeper/the kids' surrogate mom. My guess is that Rosanna is more of a mom to those kids than LuAnn is. Even Rosanna said, "I raise them how I raise my kids," which makes me think Rosanna does more of the actual child rearing. What do you think?
Wait, it was all just confirmed. It's obvious that at least LuAnn's son can't stand that his mother is never home. And Rosanna said that when he says he misses his parents, she tells him that his parents love him, and his response is "Okay I love you Rosie." Wowza.
Now we get to see LuAnn out with her niece, saying how she's so happy she got to get out of the house and forget about being a mom. Oh that's nice. We then go back and forth between LuAnn at a sex shop and her kids at home who are basically saying they grow up without a mother. Is this sickening or what?
Oy, back to Ramona, my least favorite of the housewives… her daughter Avery gets an audition, which means pulling her out of school twenty minutes early. As we all know from last week, Avery is not a fan of missing school. What a great mother. Ramona also acts like a typical stage mom, nagging Avery about the way she was reading lines. Way to freak your kid out before an audition. Best part of this? The casting director totally contradicted all of Ramona's advice. Fantastic!
As if anyone hasn't noticed yet, Bethenny isn't even a housewife. She lives alone and is trying to convince her boyfriend to move in with her. Her way of doing that? She gets drunk with her friend before Jason arrives. Jason doesn't seem too pleased, and I'm pretty sure it's a) because he doesn't feel comfortable having his life taped and b) because he knows he's in for it with Bethenny. So, while continuing to drink, Bethenny hits him with the "When are we going to move in?" question. A man's worst nightmare… and on national television too! Jason doesn't want to talk about it - continuously saying he wants to talk about it later… aka not on TV. C'mon Bethenny.
Next week Bethenny freaks out about the convo, LuAnn wants her son to break dance, Ramona annoys her daughter some more and Jill says she's been a bad girl.

Did anyone else watch the OTHER real housewives last night? Oh my gosh, Vicky is sooooo annoying! She becomes more obnoxious every episode! I have no clue how her children stand her, and her husband obviously keeps his distance from her as much as possible (justifiably!!) The teens all spent the entire trip to Mexico trying to avoid Vicky and her screaming YELPS (of which she is EXTREMELY proud, go figure!) Someone needs to tell her to start acting like a woman and not a pre-teen (not to put THEM down!) She seems to think it makes her look like a party person but it just makes her look psychotic or alcoholic! The producers really need to show her some tapes of herself, being soooo off-base! Maybe she needs a visit to Dr. Phil!
Does anyone know what kind of purse LuAnn's niece had in this ep?
