TV Recap: Lipstick Jungle
While picking up her kids at school, Wendy hears of a prequel to Harry Potter that was never published. She mentions the prospect of getting the rights to the film to Nico and Vic briefly, but before Wendy can take credit for it, news slips out to Hector from Nico during an intense meeting. The two are set up to take the corporate jet to Scotland for a meeting with J.K. Rowling, but Wendy insists that she can’t leave the kids behind since Shane is busy with his newfound career. Seeing this as an advantage, Nico invites Kirby to go on a romantic getaway with her to
Meanwhile, Victory’s new fairy godfather, Mr. Kintero has been more than generous to her. Victory knows little about Kintero, but trusts him based on the fact that Joe knows him and has given his seal of approval. She accompanies Joe to an art auction with a Van Gogh painting he wants at a starting price of $20…MILLION. They bump into Joe’s rival, some jerk who’s always trying to one-up him in everything he does. Vic is still consumed in why Kintero is so generous, and questions where his money comes from, thinking that maybe he is laundering money through her company (definitely possible… the man is so sketchy). Due to lack of space in her home since it’s become her busy office once again, Joe offers Vic a “temporary solution” to her problem by offering his place- which basically means, move in with me! She walks into a room full of beautiful clothes and shoes, all in her size. The room is really meant to be a “closet” but I refuse to call it that, because this “closet” could really be a home for three.
Back to the land of kilts, Kirby and Wendy are waiting for a little rendezvous with Nico at the same bar. In fact, they have a mini-convo before they both realize they are waiting for the same person…busted! Kirby attempts small talk with Wendy who can’t seem to hide her look of disapproval, and Wendy gets up and leaves. The meeting with JK Rowling ends up getting cancelled, so Nico suggests that Wendy find her at her daughter’s school and try to have a “mom-to-mom” talk with her in an attempt to change Rowling’s mind. Wendy is offended, and it all comes back down to how she disapproves of Nico’s affair with Kirby. When Nico called her “mother superior”, Wendy drops the “Thank god you’re not a mother, what kind of values would those kids be growing up with?”. OUCH. Needless to say, the flight back was not pretty.
Victory is becoming increasingly suspicious about the funds for her company. While at the art auction with Joe, she suspects that Joe’s rival (who always likes to one-up him) is the one behind it all. Because her suspicions were getting out of hand, Joe tells her that he is the one who bought her company. Victory walks out.
He reasons with her that he bought the company as an investment because he believes that it can be profitable. Secondly, he bought it to protect her from people who would take advantage of her. She’s upset that the man she’s dating also runs her company (like she can’t stand up on her own two feet) and that he lied. She breaks it off- Vic Ford and Joe Billionaire are officially DONE.
