TV Recap: House

House-416_Sc19-21_0045abrF.jpg

So where did we leave off last week…  oh yeah… House took a whole lot of memory drugs and remembered the dying person he saw in the bus crash. It was Wilson’s GF, Amber. Now the show hasn’t started yet, but I’m guessing just by the title of the episode, which is called Wilson’s Heart that Wilson’s heart is going to break.

My heart is also going to break since I can’t imagine a reason why Hugh Laurie will be shirtless in this episode like last weeks, but I’ve been wrong before.

Patient of the Week: Amber, AKA Cut Throat Bitch, AKA the future Mrs. James Wilson #4.

House and Wilson are at another hospital where Amber is in a coma. They’re trying to figure out what’s causing her heart to race. House is working really hard with her doctor. House decides that they should move Amber to PPTH so House can monitor her. House says Wilson is her husband and they move her. In the ambulance, Wilson seems to care more about why House was with Amber on the bus in the first place.  House gets him out of his head and into the diagnostic game.

At PPTH everyone has the sad face on because of Amber. You know the face, the one people give you when you just got dumped or fired.  Wilson wants Amber to be put on bypass and to decrease her temperature so to buy them more time to figure out what is causing her heart to speed up. Foreman is against this but House is stressed out and needs to help Wilson’s GF.

Taub confronts House and wants to know if there was anything he couldn’t tell in front of the team he needs to know. He wants to know if they did drugs together or if they were having an affair.

Kutner and 13 head to Ambers pad to see if there are any drugs or heavy metals. 13 is freaked out about being in her house.  Kutner goes through her computer and finds a video of Amber and Wilson having sex. 13 tells him it’s not relevant and they get into a fight about what is and isn’t relevant.

Sidebar: Wilson was so cute in that video all nervous!

House sits at his white board and studies the symptoms. Suddenly, Amber enters and they have a conversation.  He’s having a dream. He wants to know what symptom he saw in her. She starts to pour sherry to drink and asks: “what did we do last night?” Amber leads house to believe they totally go it on the night before and whispers in his ear “electricity.”

House-416_Sc19-21_0105.jpgCuddy won’t listen to him and tells him to rest. He wants them to drill a hole in his head and shoot electricity in it to figure out what they did last night. Wilson and Cuddy agree it’s not a good idea.

Kutner and 13  and said they found diet pills and SSRI’s in her apt. Wilson says he would know if he were on drugs. Foreman wants to warm Amber up, Wilson says no. House is taking the safer course. Foreman says if this were any other patient, House would take a more drastic approach. House berates 13 for not helping out in the DDX. He tells her to get over whatever it is that’s wrong and do her job.

Chase is about to run a test on her heart when they realize she’s having liver failure, the surgery is off. House asks if amber drinks sherry since the in the dream she was pouring him a glass. Taub tells Wilson he needs to stop just cooling her down and down to save her. Taub disagrees. Kutner says there’s a bar called Sherrie in town. Wilson and House head out to the bar to try and get answers.

They walk into Sherrie’s and the bartender gives House back his keys. House asks him about Amber. The bartender tells House she sneezed. He tells house he didn’t look at his
girlfriend’s mucus.  House says she’s not his girl, but the bartender says “last night she was.”

House-416_Sc19-21_0091.jpg13 is totally freaking out about Amber dying. Kutner tells her to relax, everyone dies. He tells her his parents were killed when he was a kid, so that’s why he’s not freaked out about death.

House thinks it’s Hepatitis B and tells Foreman. Foreman tells House to take a nap while he tells Wilson. While asleep he has another dream about Amber. He enters her room and Amber shows him a rash on her back. House wakes up and shows the group the rash. Everyone wants to know how he saw the rash.  Wilson realizes they walked a dog of a neighbor and maybe she got bit by a tick. House wants to warm her back up but Wilson says no. House aggress with him. Foreman insists they’re being stupid by running blood cultures instead of just treating her.

Hosue confronts 13 about why she’s screwing up.  He realizes she has a fear of dying. She says she’s scared about maybe have Huntington’s disease, but she’s dealing with it. She tells House he’s screwing up the case worse that she is.

Musical break: sad music plays and everyone feels bad for Wilson and deals with it in their own way.

Foreman goes to Cuddy and spills the beans about House doing what Wilson says because he’s Wilson and he’s not making logical choices. They start to warm her up. Wilson confronts Cuddy about it. She tells Wilson to go spend time with Amber. Wilson yells at House for doing this. He says he’s sorry. Wilson leaves and then comes back and insists House do the drilling in the head surgery to find the answers that are locked in House’s head. House asks Wilson if he thinks he should risk his life to save Ambers? Wilson says yes.

House-416_Sc10_0002.jpgSo there is House with Chase drilling into his brain. I guess Chase has been trained in EVERY surgery specialty?!  I don’t know how that works. Anyway, they start jolting his brain and sure enough memories come flooding back. We see what took place in the time he can’t remember.  The bartender takes away his keys and House calls Wilson for a ride. Turns out Amber picked up and came to get him. House makes her drink a comso like one of the Sex And The City girls and they both down their drinks. Sure enough she sneezes but nothing interesting comes out of her. House leaves and gets on the bus, Amber follows him to make sure he’s ok. He watches her take a bunch of pills she took for the flu. House realizes she was poisoned by the pills because when she was in the accident her body couldn’t filter her drugs out of her system. Wilson thinks she’s going to be fine. House tells her that nothing can clear it out of her blood because that particular poison binds to proteins. I really have no idea what that means, but I trust it if it’s on TV. Then House goes into a seizure and then into a coma. Not so good.

So Amber is going to die. Wilson tells Cuddy to take her off the machines, but Cuddy tells him he should first let her wake up to say goodbye. This is not something I would want. If I’m going to die, just let me die, not wake me up and then tell me so then I’m scared?!  That’s insane.

But Wilson agrees and Amber wakes up and everyone comes in and says goodbye to her. Wilson and her curl up in bed together and it’s all very sad, lots of I love yous. And she dies.

After she dies she sits on a white bus with House. He wants to know if he is dead. She says no. He says he wishes he were dead, he doesn’t want to go back since he doesn’t want to be in pain and miserable. Wilson is going to hate him and he can’t deal with that.  Amber tells him he can’t always get what you want.  For House fans, that’s a very key line almost always uttered in the season finales.

House wakes up, Cuddy is there. He’s going to be fine. There is another musical interlude sad music montage thing.  13 finds out she’s positive for Huntington’s, Kutner eats cereal, Chase and Cameron join Foreman at a restaurant, Wilson stands in House’s room, House’s eyes open, they make eye contact and Wilson walks out without saying a word to him. He then arrives at he and Amber’s apartment and finds note from her on the bed saying “sorry I’m not here, went to pick up House. Love, A.”

Tears, tears, tears.

What did you think of the finale? The season? Wilson and Amber? I’m dying to hear!  Well not dying like Amber did, but you know what I mean.

You are horrible and can't even make a good show sound good. And last week's was confusing too.

There hasn't really been enough of the Amber/Wilson relationship for me to care that much about Amber, but when Wilson cries? I cry! And when Wilson cries with Re:Stacks by Bon Iver in the background? I bawl. It was total manipulation but RSL saved it from being hokey. The saddest part for me was actually House telling vision Amber that he didn't want Wilson to hate him. That seems to be his greatest fear. For all the other people in his life, Wilson is the only person House truly has and if he loses him? He wont have anything. The only good thing about this momentary fracture in their relationship is going to be the makeup scene.
