All My Loving

Jack is sleeping and woken by Juliet.  He seems disoriented.  Juliet is forcing him to wake up.  She asks if Jack can hear her.  She thinks something is wrong.  Jack asks what happened.  Bernard yells at Faraday about why the signal isn’t working.  Faraday says he doesn’t know.  Jack says he knows their lying.  But their people will come back for them…and the Losties will be ready.  Jack faints and Juliet runs to him.

Jack is sleeping. In some comfy looking bedroom.  His phone rings and a receptionist calls to confirm one of his appointments.  He says he’ll be there.  He lives in a cute place with…toys?  And two wine glasses with left over red wine.  And he reads the paper about the Sox beating the Yanks.  Someone is showering in his place.  The mystery woman is Kate.  They end up together.  Really?!?  I never saw that one coming.  And a passionate kiss.  Wow!  I really thought she’d end up with Sawyer.  Too weird.  I really wanted her to end up with Sawyer I think.

If I Fell

Jack is reading to Aaron in some cute kidsy room.  Kate comes to the doorway to watch them.  Aaron is sleeping, but Jack continues reading.  He looks over at Kate and smiles.  I’m not familiar with the story…is anyone else?  Jack finishes, turns out the light and leaves the room with Kate.

They go into the hall and Kate calls Jack a natural.  Jack says his father used to read him that story.  Kate says its nice hearing Jack mention his father in a positive light.  She gazes over at him, and then Jack goes over to comfort her.  Kate says she loves see Jack with Aaron.  She’s glad Jack changed his mind and she’s glad that he’s hear.  He picks her up as they make out.  And they are about to have sex…no doubt!

On the island, Jack is held against the tree.  He wakes up, and Kate comes over to see what’s wrong.  She grabs his face and says he’s burning up.  Jack says all he needs is rest. Puhlease sir.  Stupid excuses.

In the jungle, Claire says she’s woozy.  Sawyer, Miles, Claire and Aaron keep walking.  Miles starts hearing things.  The death of someone.  Carl and Rousseau?  Miles then asks “Who’s Danielle and Carl?”  Claire tells him the French woman.  Miles starts moving around dirt and there buried beneath them is Rousseau and Carl.  Sawyer asks how Miles knew how they were down there.  Sawyer asks if his buddies did this.  And Miles says he didn’t sign up for this.  Claire wants to go, and Sawyer says once they get back to the beach everything will be fine.

Jack is drinking water in his tent.  Juliet asks what Jack thinks it is.  He says food poisoning.  Juliet says she respectfully disagrees.  She tells him to lift up his shirt.  If it’s food poisoning then he has nothing to worry about.  She pushes on an area near his stomach.  She tells Jack he has appendicitis.  She asks when the pain started.  Juliet wants to know whether or not it has ruptured.  Not yet. Juliet says they’ll need to take it out.  We know Jack doesn’t die…so let’s go for a different set of dramatics Lost writers.  Sometimes they disappoint…

Revolution

Juliet sends Sun to the clinic for supplies.  She reads a list of items she’ll need, but Sun says she wont’ recognize them.  Daniel volunteers to go with Sun.  He knows what the tools look like from experiments with animals.  They refuse saying he’s not trustworthy. Charlotte says they should continue playing the role of bad guys.  And Daniel gives her a stern lecture on that not helping matters.  Juliet agrees to let Daniel and Charlotte go, but she gives Jin a gun and says if either of them try to run…he should shoot them in the leg.  Ha.  I used to HATE, HATE, HATE Juliet.  But now her acts are comical. She doesn’t want anyone to die, but she’s no dumbie either.

Kate asks why Juliet can’t move Jack to the medical station.  Juliet says if they move him his appendix could rupture and he could die.  Freaky for Kate…but the rest of us know…so this is so anticlimactic.  I’m sorry to the 5 people who read this blog…but I can’t stop complaining about this stupid storyline.  Let him get shot or something.  Appendicitis?  Really?

Miles longingly watches Claire with Aaron.  Sawyer says to not even think about it to Miles.  Miles says if Sawyer is her big brother…but Sawyer explains that he’s the guy who will put a boot on Miles’ face if he doesn’t agree. Miles agrees with the restraining order…no one wants to mess with shotgun toting Sawyer.  Not even the smoke monster…whatever that maybe…or whenever…wherever…really not quite sure what plane of existence it comes from.

At the beach, Bernard reassures Rose that Jack will be okay.  Rose thinks something is strange with Jack being sick.  She said people don’t get sick here…they get better.

In the tent, Jack asks the last time Juliet did an appendectomy.  She says during her residency.  She shaves his stomach.  Jack wants to be awake during his surgery.  He wants to watch while Kate holds a mirror.  Juliet says it should be someone with medical experience.  And Jack says no he wants it to be Kate.  Juliet is visibly upset.  Clearly, Jack loves Kate.  And that’s that.

In the future, Jack sends his patient out the door.  He looks over and he thinks he sees his father.   I kinda only saw the back of the man’s head…so I’m thinking his crazy, drunk father.  A doctor calls him over.  The receptionist says there was a call for Jack from a hospital.  Hmmm….who could it be?

At Hurley’s mental institution, a doctor describes the mental patient refusing to take his pills and doesn’t think his doctor exists during therapy sessions.  Jack goes into Hurley’s room to find out what happened.  Hurley says the Oceanic 6, all of them, they are dead.  They never got off the island.  Hurley asks what Jack did today.  Hurley wants to know why Jack is with Kate.  He says it’s too perfect.  It seems just like heaven.  Hurley used to be happy, but then he saw Charlie.  They now sit together on the bench in the front lawn.  Jack asks what Charlie says.  Charlie told Hurley that Jack would be coming to visit.  Hurley wrote down the message from Charlie for Jack.  Hurley reads it, “You’re not supposed to raise him Jack.”  Hurley wants to know if Charlie means Aaron.  Jack gets upset and tells Hurley to take his meds.  Hurley tells him that Charlie said someone would visit him too…soon.  Ominous crap.  Wouldn’t that be weird if Hurley is right?  The 6 we are seeing are the ones who died.  But if that were the case, Sayid wouldn’t be experiencing heaven.  Nadia died.  That is his hell.  Hmm…but I like that twist.  Time travel is so Back to the Future.  I don’t need more Christopher Lloyd…I need the show I signed up for.

Don’t Let Me Down

Sun takes them to the medical facility.  They open the doors.  Dan thinks he should go in before Charlotte.  She agrees.  Jin and Sun speak in Korean.  Jin asks if Dan likes Charlotte.  Sun says Charlotte is a woman, she knows.  Inside the facility, Sun continues (in Korean) to voice her concerns over Faraday and Charlotte’s intentions.  She doesn’t trust them.  She also speaks about her experience in this medical station.  Charlotte looks over and smiles a little.  Hmmm…bet anyone on this page that she will be fluent in Korean?  Anyone?  Takers?

On the hike, Claire almost trips.  Miles offers to help carry the baby.  Sawyer asks what part of restraining order does Miles not understand.  Then Frank, the pilot, comes out of nowhere.  He says Miles, Sawyer and Claire must hide.  The army group is coming.  They hide and sure enough captain crazy and his wild platoon roll up with one injured man.  Frank asks what happened to him…and they blow him off.  In the bushes, Aaron makes a noise.  They are almost caught, but Frank convinces the troops that he needs to leave ASAP.  Otherwise he won’t want to take the helicopter along Daniel’s crazy coordinates.

On the beach, Kate says everything is set.  Juliet asks Kate for an extra pair of hands in the surgery.  Kate is apprehensive but agrees to hold the mirror.  Jack leaves the tent, and Kate comes over to help him go to the restroom.  Jack says if something happens to him…and Kate won’t let him finish.

In the future, Jack is outside. A building…Hurley’s institution?  He stares at a bench.  Then he drives off.  He goes to Kate’s place.  And he wakes her up.  She wants to know where he’s been then asks what’s wrong.  Jack wants to know if Kate thinks he’s good at parenting.  She reassures him.  Then Jack asks Kate to marry him.  WTF?!?  So many shocking things on lost and Jack whips out a ring.  And I think I’m more shocked now than ever.  Of course, Kate accepts the proposal.  She is so happy.  Lost and happiness do not go hand in hand.  Something’s gotta give.

With a Little Help from my Friends

 Lost-5.1-1.jpg

Sun, Faraday, Jin and Charlotte arrive back at camp.  They got everything they need.  As Faraday and Sun walk away to unload the supplies, Jin calls out to Charlotte.  Then he starts speaking in Korean.  He knows that she speaks Korean.  She pretends to not understand him…but her eyes say otherwise.  Then Jin threatens to hurt Faraday…and Charlotte starts responding in Korean.  That got her attention.  She asks what he wants.  And he says he wants her to take Sun off the island when the helicopter arrives.  Charlotte wants to know why only Sun…and Jin tells her to just do it.  Charlotte shakes her head in agreement.

Bernard shoots Jack up with the numbing stuff…I don’t know what it’s called.  Bernard says it will only numb the first incision area.  Jack will feel everything else.  Kate holds a mirror while Juliet makes her incisions.  Clearly Jack can feel this.  Jack starts freaking out.  Juliet declares they will have to knock him out.  Jack begs Kate to help, but all she can do is cry.  Juliet screams at Kate to leave the tent, and Bernard comes over saying he agrees with Juliet.  And he knocks Jack out.  People who don’t like/use anesthesia AMAZE me.  Who likes pain?  I don’t know how great it would be to feel someone slice into me…would I be a stronger person for it?  I don’t’ think so.  I’m best left without pain.

Future Jack is looking at an X-ray in his office.  He keeps hearing a beeping as he speaks into a digital recorder.  He leaves his office to follow the beeping.  He goes into the reception area and it’s a smoke detector.  He gets on a chair to take the battery out.  And then someone appears.  His dad?!?  I can’t see guys, I need glasses.  Oh wait. Two people appear.  Nevermind, the second one is a fellow doctor.  Someone “real.”  Or whatever.  I may buy into Hurley’s idea.  Jack is visibly shaken and his co-doctor seems to let it go.  Then Jack asks for a prescription from her.  Sleeping pills.  She writes it out.

Jack goes home, and he sees Kate on the phone.  She turns around to see him there and hangs up her call.  Jack asks whom Kate was talking to, and Kate says Noreen…a mom from the park.  Jack is skeptical.  Kate heads to bed after she pours herself a glass of water.  Jack takes his pills immediately.  With a beer…is that recommended?  I think doctors should know better.  Jack you alky you.  Back to trouble…this is my kind of show.

At the camp, Miles, Sawyer and Claire are sleeping.  Claire wakes up to see that Aaron is nowhere to be found.  Oh wait…it looks like Jack’s dad is rocking him.  Is that Jack’s dad?!?  Claire just called him, “Dad.”  This is so weird.  Who is this man?

Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey

Kate is shaken up outside the tent.  Understandably so.  Watching someone in pain…again…not my bag.  Bernard says the surgery went well, and Juliet did really well.  In fact, Juliet has invited Kate back inside.  Inside, she’s stitching him up, and he didn’t lose much blood.  Juliet says he’ll be fine.  And Juliet apologizes for yelling at Kate.  Then Juliet shares that Jack kissed her.  She said it was nice, but she thinks Jack was trying to prove he doesn’t love Kate.  Kate thanks Juliet.  Then thanks her for saving Jack’s life.  Kate leaves the tent.  Juliet says she knows Jack’s awake.  And Jack opens his eyes.  Ha ha.  Juliet is a smart woman.  Forgive all my blogs that previously cursed her.  Maybe she isn’t the Ben worshipping byotch I thought she was.

In the future, Jack is sitting on the armchair surrounded by booze bottles. Kate wants to know where Veronica, the nanny, is.  Jack wants to know why the nanny was there when Jack got home.  She leaves at 4 and Jack got home at 6.  Where was Kate?  Kate says she had errands to run.

Jack says he went to see Hurley last week.  Kate wants to know why she couldn’t come.  Jack didn’t want to upset her seeing Hurley acting like a crazy person.  Then he asks Kate where she was earlier that day.  Kate asks Jack to trust her and leave it be.  Jack won’t let it go.  Kate says she was out doing something for Sawyer.  She made him a promise.  And then Kate won’t share because Sawyer wouldn’t want her to.  He doesn’t matter…he chose to stay.  Jack is the one who came back.  He’s the one who saved Kate.  WHAT?!?  My interest has been spiked.  Saved kate?  Stayed behind?  For why?  And this is off subject but where is Richard and the other “Others?”

Kate says Jack can’t be drunk around her son.  Then Jack yells at her saying that she’s not even related to Aaron.  She cries even more and goes over to pick Aaron up.  Jack leaves.  So obviously Aaron is that Aaaron…and something happens to Claire, but what.  And why wasn’t Jack meant to raise Aaron?  Who was then?

On the island, Sawyer wakes up to see Miles with a fire.  Claire is missing.  Sawyer gets super angry when he finds out Claire went into the jungle with some guy she called dad.  And Miles just let her go.  Miles plays the “restraining order” card, and when Sawyer is about to kick Miles butt Aaron starts crying. Sawyer storms into the jungle where he finds Aaron all alone.  Claire is nowhere in sight, and Sawyer keeps screaming for Claire.  And that’s all folks.

Final Thoughts

Let’s break it down folks.  Jack and Kate survive.  Drift and get back together.  Eventually Jack becomes disoriented with his fate and tries to jump off a bridge.  So that’s in the future, future.  We are seeing him start his downward hill journey now.  Hurley must get to him eventually…with his crazy theories and nightgown stories.  Claire may be led to her death in the jungle…and Sawyer stays behind.  So he doesn’t die.  The helicopter may be the key to Sun getting off the island and Jin dying.  What am I missing here people?  I need to know.  Let’s have some shout outs on the board.

Hate my blog?  Love it?  Disagree?  Want more of something else?  Let’s get the conversation rolling.  Also holla to Eve for posting last week…thanks for picking up my mistake with Faraday saying there’s no rescue involved.  Until next week…

I really enjoyed this episode. It was nice to see the Losties and not just Ben and those weird freighter ppl. Overall, I haven't really enjoyed this season. It doesn't feel like the plot has progressed at all. It feels like they've been stuck, repeating the same things over and over again. I was surprised that really did get rid of Karl, Danielle and the daughter though. But, this season has been a letdown vs. the excellent last episode last year.
The flash forwards take away a lot of the suspense. I couldn't get into the appendix storyline, because we know that Jack survives. We see him in the future. It was a lot of unnecessary, superfluous drama.

I'm not sure how I felt about this episode. Lost certainly isn't the show it used to be. I agree with Shanna and CG about the appendix issues. That was stupid and pointless. But I like the flashforwards, I just don't like the way our writers have been using them. The character arcs don't seem right. I just hope the last episode of this season will be comparable to the last episode of last season.

I believe that what Jack was reading to Aaron was a passage from "Alice in Wonderland."

I always read your recaps. Am I one of the five reading? ha, ha. I was pretty amazed at the fact Claire's Aaron is Kate's Aaron. I thought that maybe Sawyer was Kate's baby's father and that should be the reason Jack didn't want to see the baby.

Mart! Glad to have some consistent readers out there...I have no idea how many people actually read my blog (they don't give me that info...), but with the lack of posts I can only assume it is my mom and her friends. Ha! Kidding (mostly)...thanks for the posts guys. Keep them coming...I do read them...see...

Well, I have enjoyed this season of lost although the revalations of the future were a bit much this past week. Also for some time I had assumed that only the Oceanic 6 had made it out alive until the reference to Sawyer staying behind on the island. I was disappointed in that. Anyway I hope too the season finale is a great one. All for now.

I enjoyed last weeks episode. A little hokey but it is television entertainment. I am also looking forward to a great season finale!! Jack's future glimpes were a little disappointing as I had assumed only the Oceanic 6 had survived until Jack mentions that Sawyer stayed back on the island. So lets hold back on dishing out all of the goodies. Till next time.
