Castle: Continue or Cancel?
I need to know - what did everyone think of ABC's new show Castle?
Castle, which airs Mondays on ABC at 10 pm, stars Nathon Fillion as Richard Castle, a crime story writer who is called upon by the NYPD to help them catch a killer who has been staging scenes depicted in his novels. Castle then stays on to help/annoy/shadow the cops, including Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), with whom he works most closely.
Considering there are so many crime shows on TV, a new show has to be incredible to get me to watch it. And unfortunately, Castle didn't do it for me. The premise was too close to The Mentalist, yet the storylines and characters were nowhere near as smart.
The show couldn't end soon enough for me, though I did get a laugh when the promos for this Monday's show came on. While describing the episode's case, the promo used the line, "The ink's not dry," which set my boyfriend and I off on a rampage of coming up with new corny lines they could use. Here are some of the ones we thought of:
"Another page can still be turned."

"Don't close the book just yet."
"Some stories don't have endings."
"Don't judge a case by its cover."
"You might want to bookmark this chapter."
"The cops and the killers aren't on the same page."
That said, I asked my Facebook fans and Twitter followers how they felt about the show, and much to my surprise, they seemed to like it. Andrew Hofstetter wrote, "I thought it was good -- a little predictable at times -- but it's a great premise." Jessica Kuhn added, "I love Nathan Fillion and it seemed like it could be interesting -- a little predictable but good characters."
So, everyone seems to agree on the predictable front, but what did you all think?

I know the show is a bit recycled, but for a minute, don't compare it to other, similar shows. If you do, you see that it is entertaining - a bit predictable of course, but that is part of the fun.
I liked the show I think is witty the only problem is at the same time as Medium and I cant miss that, change it to another day.
I think its pretty good but I just HAVE to watch Medium because its one of my favorites so I have to DVR Castle.
The guy is a babe but the show is super boring. There isn't ANY chemistry between the 2 main characters! I'm ready to give up on it...too bad, I sure don't mind watching HIM!!
I LOVE Nathan Fillion !! And I really like this show. I think that there IS chemistry between the 2 main characters and I find Nathan to be such a lovable cad. Also, the relationship he has with his daughter is heartwarming. Hope it sticks around for awhile.
I love this show...I think there is real charisma between the characters. Please leave it on...I like it better than the Mentalist.
I loved the show. I thought it was witty and fast-paced. Nathan has a gift for the comedic timing he does so well. I don't watch Medium so I don't really care about the time. I hope the network gives this show a chance to capture an audience. I have recommended this show to my friends
I don't care about the Mentalist because I can't stand Simon Baker, but love both Fillion and Katic, and while the pilot has been merely servicable in terms of story, the episodes have gotten more interesting and funnier every time.
Me and my family absolutely LOVE this show and I hope that ABC gives it a chance.
ABC did not do Castle any justice by airing it on Mondays at 9:00 because it is clearly competing against well established shows.
If they cancel Castle, this is definitely a confirmation to me that investing is shows these days is something that we should do with caution.
