This is it. The Season Finale. The last 2 hours of a long, bad day. How will this season end? Do we discover Josh's parentage already? Do we see the Palmers again? Audrey? TIck Tock. Doyle takes Josh to give him to Phillip in exchange for the component. Jack knows that Phillip will double cross everyone and keep both. He intends to stop him no matter who gets in his way. However, he is still in CTU custody. Karen calls Bill and tells him that they need to stop Phillip and the trade. She suggests that he do whatever he has to do to stop it. Good to see Bill again. He's always been one of my favorite CTU peeps after Chloe.
Josh turns himself in to save his mom. Marilyn is completely hysterical and Jack has to calm her down. He has a plan of course. Jack signals to Nadia what his plan is and they attack their captors. Jack is pretty vicious and strangles a guy. Doyle comes in and saves Nadia just in time. She's clearly broken up about Milo's death and Doyle expresses his sorrow. Jack and Doyle climb beneath CTU and try to rescue Josh.
Nadia informs Jack that there will be a restraining order filed against him from Heller. Jack must stay away from Audrey. Nice reward for saving her life. He pleads to be released from custody so he can correct everyone else's mistakes. Nadia's not having it and weilds her power around by threatening Jack. She then goes out and orders CTU to prepare to go after Chang at his hideout.
Audrey is completely out of it. She thinks Ricky Shroeder is Kiefer Sutherland. Doyle feels guilty for messing up Jack's plot, but still has Jack arrested. At least Doyle is man enough to admit he's stupid. Audrey is a complete mess and it's really sad.
Nadia denies Morris' request for a transfer. She makes it clear that she is the boss and orders him to keep his personal life private and go back to his desk. This is the most interesting Nadia has been all season. This includes when Doyle roughed her up after thinking she was a double agent. Morris goes back to Chloe and tells her that it's over between them. I hate to see Chloe cry.
Doyle is left to look for a ride after being abandoned by Jack. He carjacks a guy and goes off in pursuit of Jack. He has CTU track Jack down. Chloe and Morris work to catch him, but Chloe is reluctant. Jack plans to meet at an abandoned hotel to make the switch for Audrey.
Jack reels from the discovery that Audrey is alive and he wants to speak with her. Audrey's captor (Chang) won't allow it unless he gets the components to the Russian bombs or something. It's very confusing but apparently he wants it to have info on the Russians. No one really cares anyway. We all care about Audrey. She gets to speak with Jack who promises to save her. Jack calls Chloe and tells her about Audrey being alive. He wants Chloe to get him the information he needs to swap it for Audrey. Of course Chloe is hesitant since it's illegal. She realizes that she can get access through Morris' computer. She logs in but Morris is on his way back to his desk.
The week begins with everyone wondering what has gotten into Palmer. He still plans to proceed with the military strike and it makes no sense whatsoever. Karen calls Bill to find out if he knows anything new about the missing nukes in the hope that the information will stop Palmer. As Tom pleads with Wayne they receive a phone call from the Ambassador of the country which is about to be attacked. The Ambassador tells Palmer that they believe that one of their Generals, Habib, has been working with Fayed. Palmer wants more answers and the Ambassador promises to get them. Palmer finally agrees to stop with the strike and then reveals that he was bluffing because he knew someone was sitting on information. That Wayne Palmer isn't as dumb as I thought he was. Even Tom and Karen are amazed that he was bluffing. I admit I didn't think he had it in him!!
Wayne is awake and all decked out in his suit. Like so many others on this show you would never know he narrowly beat death. He wants to be on his feet to confront Daniels and asks for a shot of adrenaline. Daniels tells Wayne how happy he is to have him back. GROAN. The cabinet wants to hear medical testimony to decide whether or not Wayne is fit to hold office. Wayne looks and sounds too good for them to remove him from office. It's so ridiculous but you've got to go along with whatever on this show. Daniels basically says that he wants the enemies to feel the U.S.'s pain by attacking them. LAME ARGUMENT. Is Ryan Seacrest in charge of this cabinet? Are they going to drag out the decision on who should go until the very end?
Jack has been rescued from the Russian Embassy by Mike Doyle (Schroder) and CTU. They have the information as to where the bombs are. Fayed and Gredenko are frantically trying to launch their weapons, but realize that they are close to being caught. They go ahead and launch one of the bombs. CTU realizes that something is flying in the air and prepare to counter. The terrorists are smart and corrupt their computer systems so they can't detect it.
Logan has been taken into custody at CTU and does the walk of shame. Chloe is the first to go in
and of course gives him attitude after he tries pulling rank. It's Ricky Schroder (Mike Doyle) onto the scene. He steps into CTU and everyone knows it. Eric Balfourlooks annoyed. Milo spouts out about not liking him and his attitude from their time in Denver. There's some history there to uncover. I hope it's good. Milo fights with everyone.
Palmer has been seriously injured by the explosion and goes into surgery. The Presidents on this show don't fair as well as those on other shows. They are always almost murdered or murderers themselves.
President Palmer meets with the Ambassador of a country that I did not hear. Mr. Ambassador is not happy to see Al-Assad. Palmer insists that Al-Assad is going to help them stop the bombings in the U.S and needs help. The Ambassador refuses to ask his Prime Minister to back Al-Assad's words because of what it would mean to back such a known terrorist. I love how they don't mention a country for this guy. This show gets a lot of flack for it's portrayal of terrorists so not mentioning a country should please many people.
Milo and Marilyn run off and hide from the hitmen that Phillip sent. One of the guys calls Phillip
and tells him that Jack is dead (HA as if it were that easy). Milo orders Marilyn to run as fast as
she can when he gives the signal. Milo starts shooting but gets hit and Marilyn stays behind to
help, getting herself kidnapped. Milo is about to be killed when Jack rides in just in time to save
them. That Eric Balfour has been lucky so far. He survived bombs and gunshots. Jack grabs Marilyn
because he is pissed off. She breaks down and tells Jack that his father is behind everything and
ordered her to set Jack up. She finally tells Jack the location of Gredenko.

24 Executive Producer, Howard Gordon has told the Philadelphia Inquirer that the show is going to scale back on the abundance of Jack Bauer torture scenes this season. But Gordon insists they're not making the changes because viewer groups or the military have pressured him to do so.
This is going to be a long one!! We have two hours of Jack tonight. I may need a drink by the end. Here we go...Jack is hot on the trail to rescue Morris thanks to Chloe tracking them down by satellite. I swear I type "Chloe" and "Satellite" every entry. Bill calls Jack to tell him that his brother is dead and then relieves Chloe of her duties because she is distraught. Bill is a total kill joy.
Tonight's episode of Prison Break has been pre-empted to bring us two glorious hours of Jack Bauer saving the world! Yes, Wentworth Miller is a total babe, but if there was a "babe-off" between Keifer and Wentworth, well, I'd have to take Keifer all the way.

Check back tomorrow for the official 24 recap and commentary. Also if you've missed any 24 episode so far, follow the 24 link below to read all the recaps of season six.
Evil brother Graham has his goons take his father and Jack to the desert to be murdered. They're about to be dropped into a freaky looking hole when Jack outsmarts their captors (natch!) and gets the upperhand. Jack calls Bill at CTU to tells him that Graham is the link to Fayed. Jack and the CTU agents have track Graham back at his house and set up a swat team to invade.
Inside, Marilyn and Graham's fighting is upsetting the probable love child of Jack and Marilyn. Within seconds Jack and Graham are facing off and Graham is the first to blink, dropping his gun and being taken into custody. Jack and Marilyn finally share some words instead of shamed glances. Marilyn doesn't trust Graham, but she doesn't trust Jack either because when he protects people bad things tend to happen. Can't say that I blame her. Marilyn tells Phillip to make sure that Jack keeps love child Josh out of the mess.
Jack isn't getting the answers he needs from Graham so he decides to play hardball in his interrogation. Graham should 'fess up now based on what he has seen Jack do in the few hours since their family reunion. Phillip watches as Jack begins to torture Graham to find out where McCarthy is.
Tell him, Graham!!!
Jack ups the ante and Graham is finally spilling and he lets it all out. He confesses to plotting the assassination of David Palmer and his other former CTU friends. He talks about how he lured Jack out of hiding to take the fall, and how he tried and failed to have Jack killed. Graham mentions that he and Jack are the same and Jack goes ballistic at this notion. He's about to kill Graham when he looks up to see his father looking back at him.
Karen and Tom argue over Tom going behind the President's back to authorize detention centers and civilian arrests. That slime Tom won't back down and asks Reed (nice to see you again, Chad Lowe!) to help him get rid of Karen. Tom orders Karen to give her resignation and taunts her with information about Bill releasing Fayed from custody 14 months earlier. She really needs to knock him out. He's a little weasel that needs to be stopped. He just screams traitor. Tom boasts that he has a list of people who would be willing to testify against Bill if she doesn't do as he asks. She doesn't smack him, but does call him an SOB. He snaps back that he never claimed he wasn't one. You've got to give him props for knowing his own character flaws. Karen goes to President Palmer and gives him her resignation. Cannot believe she bowed down to Tom. Palmer won't accept her resignation and knows this has something to do with her fighting with Tom. Karen puts up more of a fight about quitting than she did with Tom and Palmer relents. He agrees to transfer her to LA. She should stay because she's much safer in the President's bunker with all those nukes on the loose. Reed gets confirmation that she quit and calls Tom.

Morris consoles Chloe who asks, "What if people I know keep dying?" Yeah, no kidding Chloe! That would be the question to ask when you are running around on this show. No one is safe. You blink and your favorite character could be kidnapped by terrorists, shot by Jack Bauer, or bitch slapped by an overworked Chloe.
Fayed makes a phone call to an accomplice who is angry the bomb was set off in his neighborhood. Fayed wants to get his hands on the other bombs to set them off and coerces his accomplice to help him.

Al-Assad makes it to CTU and informs them about a Russian general whom Fayed contacted about the nuclear bombs. Morris and Chloe start digging around and come up with a list of potential contacts including Jack's dad, Phillip Bauer! Bill calls Jack to tell him the news and Jack wants to be the one to question his father. Jack calls his father's home but talks to some guy named Sam who tells him that his father isn't around. Is Sam Jack's dad's boyfriend!?? I kind of get that vibe. Anyone else? If so, another twist I would have never seen coming.
Sam is being watched by some guy who calls Fayed's angry accomplice. Big twist. Angry accomplice is Jack's brother, Graham! I see a Cain and Abel fight coming up by the end of the episode. Jack calls his shady brother questioning the whereabouts of their dad. The brother has a throw away line about how their dad is probably out with one of his many girlfriends. There goes my earlier theory, but who is this Sam guy? Graham comes home to his family and the ever popular Rena Sofer is playing his wife. She is everwhere on TV. Turn the dial and she's Nathan's wheelchair bound wife on Heroes.

The Feds tell Sandra that they are putting a wire on Walid in order to get information from the other prisoners about the bomb. They stage an interrogation to prove to the other prisoners that Walid is on their side. Poor Walid is roughed up pretty badly, but it appears to work. Sandra gets some attitude from one of the Feds but she gives it back and gives a threat. She reminds me of the much missed Sherry Palmer. Moment of silence please. Ok, Walid is opening up to one of the prisoners who is buying it.
Fayed talks to some Darren guy who just picked up his high maintenance girlfriend or wife. Darren tells Fayed that he found someone to do his dirty work. I wonder if it's his girl. If so she is so going to screw up. President Palmer sits down to address the nation and his speech sounds too rehearsed and if he were the real President I would be so freaked out.

Bill is briefing CTU and the President on Jack's actions when they receive a call from Fayed. Fayed offers a cease fire in exchange for the release of terrorists who have been imprisoned. President Palmer wants to oblige to stop the bombings, but Karen and Tom don't approve. The Present outranks them so he wins. Don't we all know how that feels! The prisoners Fayed wants freed are lined up and it's really frightening to see that many all in one room.
Eric Balfour is back and wants Morris and Chloe to follow through with the President's plan. Morris gives him some attitude, but Eric Balfour fights back and threatens to have him fired. He's got some attitude for someone who always cancels a show.
Jack shows what a badass he is and carjacks a guy to chase the suspect. Jack has only been a free man for a little more than 2 hours and has done more than most people do all week. Not to mention the fact that he has gone from vampire to savior to carjacker in NO TIME. He rams his car into the Handler to get him to stop. Al-Assad offers to drive the Handler as a way to keep tabs on him. This Handler guy isn't too smart. He can't smell a set up and doesn't realize that Al-Assad left his cell on to be tracked. The low level bad guys are always dumb. Curtis picks up Jack and tells him how good it is to see him after all this time. He apologized for all that Jack has been through. I have a horrible feeling something bad is going to happen to Curtis. It's only 39 minutes into the hour, but I'm calling it now.
Day 6: Los Angeles
It's 6 AM and the news reports show destruction in San Diego. A young guy sits on a bus playing with his iPod when he detonates a bomb, blowing up the bus. So begins another long day for the workers of CTU.
Viewers learn that there's a new President Palmer in the White House -- brother Wayne. It's nice to see another President Palmer , but we all miss Jean Smart walking around in all her craziness.
We finally get to see inside CTU again and look for any familiar faces. There aren't many besides lovable Chloe. Oh wait -- it's Eric Balfour (Six Feet Under, Sex, Love & Secrets and Conviction) from the first season. This can't be good. He's generally the kiss of death for any show. Perhaps that's the premise for Season 6: Jack Bauer is going to have to save 24 from Eric Balfour's ability to bring on cancellation.
Moving On... Chloe has a new boyfriend, Morris. He appears to genuinely care for her although he seems shady. Maybe it's just me being cautious because every season there appears to be the one potential mole in CTU. Chloe also manages to have made a new enemy in the office with Nadia. Chloe is at her best when she's a snotty coworker. I can't wait until she smacks Nadia around a little.
Jack has gotten released from the Chinese prison he's been confined to for the past two years. Bill Buchanan and Curtis go to meet up the helicopter holding Jack. I know you normally don't look good if you're being held in a foreign prison, but Jack looks like a homeless mountain man. I can't wait for the scene where he gets cleaned up. We don't know much at this point other than Jack hasn't spoken in two years. Also, Karen is working for the President and we learn that she married Bill Buchanan! Who'd have thought? Talk about foreshadowing. This just isn't going to end well for them. I have a horrible feeling. The US wants Jack to sacrifice himself in order to get Assad, who they believe is behind the terrorist attacks.
They are always asking the most from him. I wonder what is annual reviews are like.
For those of you who can't wait for the January 14th season premiere of the emmy award winning FOX drama, 24, here's a 10 minute official prequel of the upcoming season. I know how rabid you 24 fans are, so here's a little taste of what's to come. Think of it as an early holiday gift from yours truly.
I have loved Ricky Schroder since I was seven and my parents wouldn't give me the $19.99 to join Ricky "The Ricker" Schroder's fan club! That is why I'm so psyched he's joining the cast of 24 for the sixth season. Ricky (do you mind if I still call him Ricky?) will play CTU operative, Mike Doyle, who teams with Jack Bauer (one of the best TV characters of all time) to execute some key field operations. "Key field operations?" That sounds pretty vague, so I'm not sure what it means or how I can make fun of it.
Ricky's addition to the cast is the lastest in a long list of actors getting the call to come fight the good fight for America. He joins newbies Jayne Atkinson, Peter MacNicol, James Cromwell, Regina King, Kal Penn, Marisol Nichols, Alexander Siddig, Harry Lennix, Chad Lowe, Powers Boothe and David Hunt. And that list doesn't even include the returning cast members from last season.
I hope 24 doesn't turn into Lost where every week there's another new person I've never seen before popping up from behind some rock, pretending they've been there all along because we know what happens to ratings when that's the case. Let me give you a hint: They don't go up.
The two night, four hour blockbuster premiere will take place on January 14th and 15th.
I don’t know how you fans of 24 do it. When you last saw Jack Bauer he was on the Chinese ship The Shanghai steaming across the Pacific. That was in May. Now it’s almost November and you still don’t have any information on Jack or new episodes to keep you occupied. I don’t think I could wait this long for a new episode of House.
So I have good news and bad news, which do you want first?
Bad News: 24’s season six premiere isn’t until January 24, 2007.
Good News: Fox has released a two minute trailer so you can catch a sneak peak of Jack Bauer’s sixth day from hell.
More good news: Jack is new and improved with a beard and let’s just say bearded Bauer is a babe.
Even More Good News: Jack is saying stuff like "Do you understand the difference between dying for something and dying for nothing? Today, I can die for something.” I can’t wait until January.
