The Golden Globe nominations are in, and I couldn't be happier with the TV noms.
I really can't complain about the nominees for Best Television Series - Drama. Flat out, Dexter should have been nominated (Do you watch it? Best show ever!) Though since it wasn't, I'd be perfectly happy with Big Love winning, but I think Damages was an awesome breakout hit and should take the gold.
Speaking of Damages, its star Glenn Close was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama and she deserves it. Then again, Minnie Driver was spectacular in The Riches (another fantastic FX show), and I can't say enough about Sally Field (Brothers & Sisters). My poor mom is going to cry if I ever again say to her, "But on Brothers & Sisters, Sally Field's character does xyz. Why don't you?"
Showtime's Dexter thankfully got some love in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama category. Michael C. Hall deserves to win more than anyone else. He's genius in the role.
As for the Musical or Comedy categories, well, I'm just not as passionate about those. But I'd be glad to see either 30 Rock, Entourage or Pushing Daisies take home the awards. What can I say, those shows just make me all warm and fuzzy inside.

In FX's new legal drama, Damages, 28-year-old Rose Byrne plays Ellen Parsons, the protege of successful litigator Patty Hewes (Glenn Close). We caught up with the star -- who previously appeared in Marie Antoinette and The Dead Girl. Check out what she had to say:

What's it like working with Glenn Close?
When you’re working with someone who is so great, you know, obviously. But I think it just makes you a better actor because you’ve really got to step up to the plate, and it makes you deliver, you know, so you can hit the ball back over the net. So it’s all good -- good stuff. It’s all great. And she’s just wonderful to watch and learn, to see how she kind of works, and how she breaks a scene down and how she communicates.
You grew up in Sydney and you moved to London. Which do you prefer? London or Australia?
I would say I’m pretty divided, but I have -- I think my emotional home is probably Australia, because my family and friends are there, and my childhood. But, London is just spectacular as a city, and there’s kind of -- it’s the edgiest, most interesting place for artists, I think, at the moment. I think it’s wonderful. So, yeah, I’m lucky to have a bit of both in my life.
You’ve worked with a lot of big names in the industry. You know, Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, Heath Ledger. Who is the one person you’d want to work with if you were given the opportunity?
Oh, goodness, where do I start? I think I’ve always loved Jack Nicholson. I think he’s kind of one of the best – you know, my favorite actor. I think he’s excellent. I would love to work with him. And I’ve always been a huge David Lynch fan. So if I could possibly work with David Lynch one day that would be like a dream come true.
You’ve worked on a lot of dramas and sci-fi. And I was wondering, is there another genre that you’re interested in working in? Perhaps comedy?
I’d love to do comedy, yeah. I’m generally pretty goofy, so I’d love to do something a little silly, yeah.
Damages airs Tuesdays at 10pm (ET) on FX. Watch it tonight and let me know if you think it's a legal show with edge or if you're over seeing lawyers on your small screen.
