Funny lady Molly Shannon will be gracing our TV screens once again, when her new comedy Kath & Kim premieres Tuesdays this fall on NBC.Kath & Kim is based on the Australian version of the show about a dysfunctional mother and daughter who move back in together. Molly will be playing mom Kath to daughter Kim, played by Selma Blair.
The first thing I wanted to know: How the heck is Molly playing Selma's mom? Plus, you'd think most actresses are too vain to do that. But not Molly.
"The two women in the Australian series are the same age. People don't know that. They play mother and daughter, but they're from a comedy troupe and they're the same age... So I don't mind. I'm like if the part's good, I don't care about that. I feel like comedy kind of frees you from that."
For those of you who loved Molly's comedy on Saturday Night Live, you won't be disappointed, as she'll definitely have fun getting into character:
"She [Kath] wears jumpsuits and thinks she's sexy and wears leotards. French manicures with diamonds. All about the nails. She's a hairdresser so she has two different hairstyles. Always changing her hair. Different tones of color in her hair. Maybe two different cuts together... She thinks she's stylish."

In the newest edition of Playboy she says that Paula Abdul "was awful," when she hosted Saturday Night Live back in 2005. I guess that revelation isn't that shocking but it's still great gossip!
Apparently during an American Idol sketch on the show, Paula wanted to change parts and not play herself, so Amy Poehler had to play her.
"I remember thinking, 'She's a disaster! I gotta prop this lady up and get her on TV,'" Fey said.
If you happened to miss Justin Timberlake on SNL this weekend, you missed one of the funniest digital shorts they've done on the show since the wildly popular Chronicles Of Narnia last year. Seriously funny, seriously love me some JT.

Another reason to tune in: Jimmy Fallon is rumored to be making a special guest appearance. I'm hoping it's during the news because I miss him and think that Seth Myers is kind of annoying.
I might be too old to love Justin Timberlake, well, I guess not because I'm not as old as his girlfriend Cameron Diaz... either way, I love him and I have tickets to his concert in Los Angeles in January. He's such an incredible live performer. Can. Not. Wait.
But it turns out I won't have to wait that long to see him perform. On December 16th, Justin will be hosting Saturday Night Live for the second time. Yeah, he's just that good. Did you see him the first time? In one sketch he was dressed up like a hot dog standing outside a hot dog stand trying to get people to come in, I'm not doing it justice, it was hilarious.
Justin will be both host of the show and musical guest, holy crap, is it December 16th yet? I cannot wait!
Are you guys still watching Saturday Night Live? It’s one of my TIVO season passes, but I only watch when I like the host, which is why I’m excited about their upcoming episodes. Saturday Night Live just announced their guest hosts for the month of October. This Saturday, Emmy nominated My Name Is Earl star, Jaime Pressly will be in the hot seat. First of all she’s hilarious and second of all every article I’ve read about her for the past three years has said she’s 28 years old. I guess that’s in Hollywood years, which means she actually around 35. Am I right? Moving on.
Then on October 21st Talladega Nights star John C. Reilly will taking over the hosting duties. I wonder if his good buddy and Talledega Nights co-star, Will Ferrell hooked him up with the gig. Must be nice to have friends like that.

And on the Saturday before Halloween when I should be making the rounds at all the biggest LA parties, I will instead be on my couch tuning in to watch one of the best actors on television and the man who I refer to as my TV boyfriend, Hugh Laurie from House rocking Studio 8H at Rockefeller Center hosting the big show. If I made a list of people I’d want to see host this season, Hugh would be on the top then McDreamy and McSteamy as co-hosts and of course David Hasselhoff who would show up all drunk and demand to be the host and musical guest. That would be amazing. If anyone at NBC is reading this please make a girl’s dream come true.![]()
